I've been full-time marketing online for over 16 years.

I'm pretty sure as you mention that traffic will likely be number one for most.

I personally use 3rd party data to drive traffic. Which is email data that the users have shown an interest in a specific niche and have provided permission to receive messages from third parties. I get the opt-in record for all users and it's 100% can-spam compliant.

The downside is that data comes first, in that depending on what the targeted niche is, I then send a relevant offer for it. This is because data for all possible niches just doesn't exist. Even if it did, there are niches that are simply too broad. So while I say niche, in most cases I'm actually getting data that targets a very specific offer. For example, I may get data where the users are interested in life insurance, which I then send a life insurance offer.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to come across this method at the start of my online marketing career and it's what I have always done. So I have never had to struggle like most to generate traffic. Not that what I do is so simple, as it is far more involved than it appears on the surface and when I started, I had to figure everything out by trial and error.

My problem has always been traffic.

That all changed when I discovered Facebook groups.

It's free but hard to manage and find.

Using commonly available tools, FB group traffic is now EASY to get.

The next hurdle? Automating Conversion Rate Optimization

Almost everyone will say that traffic is their biggest hurdle. And although that's how they feel it is completely incorrect.

Their problem is they do not have a good sales funnel to convert that traffic into enough money.

That means 90% of marketers look for free traffic. Most fail.
Those that try paid traffic don't make a profit because sending traffic to a single offer (no matter how good) rarely makes a profit.

    In simple terms:
Use your traffic to build an email list
Email multiple offers to your list (automate).

The more you offer, the more you sell the more profitable a single subscriber becomes.

Improving your back end profitability allows you to pay more for traffic which enables you to ramp up your business.

What's the best paid traffic? The one that works for you.
Spend time learning and perfecting one traffic technique rather than scatter gunning your sales funnel.

I like the concept of high ticket but for example like MLM has always been difficult to find one you are proud to promote and will be around for the long term.

I am in a FB group and the Group creator who is very successful by the way calls anything not high ticket
    "Bitch Sales"

But I do not quite see it that way. They are lead generators and gateways to those higher priced items.

TRAFFIC!!! That is undoubtedly the #1 hurdle every marketer has to cross. Whether you use paid methods or not, the key to success is CONSISTENCY.

Traffic, traffic and traffic. Not only that, it has to be TARGETED traffic if we want to be converting sales/commissions. As an affiliate market, you are will forever find your self tweaking for maximum conversion rate.
