Hey! I have one question. What if I'm a little lazy to do keyword research, or do research on what niches are profitable or not? Are there any keyword, or niche tools out there that I can purchase that will do the research for me? I know that I'd have to write good articles about that niche, or using those keywords, but I just want software to do the research for me, and I know there ARE some out there. Any advice? (oh, and if you do know free and easy ways to do both keyword and niche research, please do share them =) Thanks! |

edhan has it right. If you're going to be lazy you won't succeed. Quote:
There's a competition bar that gives you an idea of how many people are running ads for that keyword. If the bar is full you can bet somebody's found a way to profit while paying for each click. If you want to look for profitable niches, check out Amazon's bestseller list, or Google Trends, or learn how to use Google's keyword tool creatively. Hint: a lot of people searching for a solution to their problem will use certain phrases in their search across a lot of unrelated niches ("How do I", "What's the best way to"...). Figure out what those phrases are and plug them into the keyword tool. Or just keep reading this forum. I got all of these tips and more right here. | |

My favorite keyword tool is SpyFu -- if people are spending money on keywords, then obviously the niches are profitable... I also use Google's keyword tool with the CPC column enabled. Same effect: if there's a high CPC, then people are spending money on the niche. |

I use the google keyword tool. From your post title I thought you were going to be telling us you do article marketing with Dragon naturally speaking. That's what I call article marketing the easy way. Mike |

Potential customers are people. Finding need and wants and fulfilling them has been the path of success for thousands of years. They didn't have keyword tools in Babylon or Rome, but people still attained huge successes. Hearst, Rockefeller, Gates and Buffet never used keyword tools. |

I'll throw in a strong endorsement of Micro Niche Finder. It will find and tell you at the click of one or two buttons if a keyword is at least a good possibility to get ranked for and earn money from. Nothing is going to really dig deep without you doing some leg work, but this tool is very handy for quick scans of various niches and keywords. John |

LIke the posts above, use the Google AdWords tool to give you a quick overview to see the kind of search volume particular keywords generate. I used to spend lots of valueble time filling in my spreadsheet with values such as allintitle, compeitions, allinanchor etc. This was VERY time consuming. I recently bought Microco Niche Finder and its pretty close to anything that I wanted. It allows you to hone in on exact keywords and give you an indication on the 'optimise-ability' of that keyword. Saying that, you still need to put in a lot of time and legwork, if it was that easy, EVERYONE would be doing it. Short term pain for long term gain is well worth it. Good luck |

Take your niche search term in its broadest sense and feed it into G's Adword Tool with the setting at exact match, checking local average results. Select your kw's/longtails from the corresponding list supplied, paying close attention also to the related terms list that follows (you can find some gems here!) Save your keyword list to a text file; then add as a project to Micro Niche Finder. You then will be able to get the number of competing sites and the Strength of Competition. Obviously, having completed these checks we now have to check the sites on page one of G to check things such as PR, number of links, authority sites etc. A good tool (free) for this is the Firefox plugin SEOQuake. This will give you this information and more. If you find you need more keywords, take your existing list and feed it back into Google Adword Tool and you should get more no problem. HTH's, Michael |
