.com are doing much better than .info !

I have 5 .com websites and 5.info ones; .com are doing much better than .info ones.
Is that just by chance or is there any reasons for that behavior?
Thanks

    That depends ...

When you say the .com's are doing better, do you mean placing higher in the SERPs, in terms actual traffic volume coming to the site, or in terms of conversions (sales, clicks if it's AdSense)?

Nobody could answer that without having more details. The only way you could test it would be to have almost exactly the same sites with .com and .info, promote them the same, use the same keywords, build them the same day, etc.

But most people that have been doing this for a long time say that .coms and .orgs seem to work better than .info's or anything else. I always get .coms if I can. It might be that people that are searching have a natural tendency to go with .coms first because of a perception of credibility.

I'm not aware of any scientific tests that have been done to answer this question exactly.

I hope this isn't something that had written on the rock because most of my domain name was .info

I completely disagree with those arguing Google somehow discounts .info vs. .com. If you have an older .info with more backlinks, it's gonna outrank a younger .com with fewer backlinks, all other things being equal. I have seen this many times over the last few years with my own properties. In terms of SERPs, domain extensions don't matter. There might be other good reasons to worry about it (business branding, for example, and type-in traffic), but for SERPs, no worries.
