New Member On Here: IM Tips From Gurus Will Be Highly Apreciated

I'm new to the IM business, I'm currently doing intensive research on IM and then I found this great forum. I'm eager to Learn, Implement and Earn.

So here is what I have in mind:

1. I have already already identified a niche

2. I plan on preparing my materials and posts for my my blog as I proceed with my research before I launch my blog which will focus more on teaching people what I have learnt.

3. I would sell my own product as well.....

4.............

So what would you recommend I research and learn?
How do I connect with my audience and according to you what are the best strategies out there?
Thank you for your response

  • Collect all the leads don.t miss that, give some free E-books or sample product what you have.
Later that promote your product to the customer this will work well.
If you miss to collect the email, you are missing 70% of business.

@Christyjohnson johnson: Is there any free platform of collecting emails? I tried Getresponce for collecting emails but I fails because they need confirmations from customers which they signed up through Optin form. Please let me know the best platform and how to get emails automatically into list without customer confirmation. Thanks

If you are planning on simply using a 'Blog' to earn, be prepared for spending a lot of time for little return (initially) It will take some time to gain any traction. If you are going to focus on teaching people what you "learn't" instead of what you 'learned', be prepared as well. People are more interested in what you can do for them vs. what someone else has done for you.
As far as the autoresponder goes, I personally use Aweber so my answer here would be biased based on my experience. Aweber has an app for your mobile device where you can add names and emails without the need for a 'confirmation' but other autoresponders offer similar options without the phone app. Simply turn off the confirmation.

Lastly. which other way to earn would you recommend please?

If you have not already then definitely do a search in Facebook for Blogging Groups or Masterminds.

You gain alot much faster and everyone has the same primary focus.

Some even have a couple days of the week when they promote each others content.

  • Carter,
what you plan is just and i believe it works. Learning, implementing and earning is so important if you want to achieve your aim.
what you can connect with your audience is to find a niche that audiences want most, then create squeeze page with professional ecover book that will catch them into your cage and publish rich content that attract users into registering for more information or free stuffs in which users love free ebook.

Try and see. I hope you get me.

Mailchimp doesn't permit affiliate marketing. So this is only an option if you will be selling your own products. Last time I checked...they don't let you import lists without all contacts being sent a confirmation message unless you are using their API to import the data.

You do not have to use double opt-in (confirmation) with getresponse. In the campaign settings, you can turn it off.

The most popular ESPs that allow affiliate marketing are Aweber and Getresponse. Neither is free but offer a free trial. They don't require double opt-in or lists that you import be sent a confirmation message.

Very hard question because there is so much to cover when you first start, but I'll give you some Google indexing / ranking tips and some social media tips.

    Google Indexing / Ranking

Be very careful where you start linking from when you fist start a new website. If you use some sort of free backlinking tool for example, this can kill any chance you have of indexing. Google hates spam and will ban any new website using such strategies.

Be sure to only link from authoritative websites to start like the top 7 social networks, popular web 2.0 websites (Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, ect), popular video websites (Youtube, Daily Motion), private blog networks (ONLY ones that you KNOW are reputable / are on Google's good side.) and maybe super-authoritative forums like Warrior Forum.

Be careful of this last one though. Be sure not to over do it, and only use the very best forums to start.

These types of links that I just mentioned are all you need to start indexing and ranking quickly.

    Social media

Engage with the type of audience that you'd like signing up for your list.

This can be following, Retweeting, mentioning them in a Tweet, adding them to a list, liking their Tweets, or replying to their Tweets.

If you have good stuff on your account, are consistent, and engage with other users, your audience will find your account and follow it.

You can also use this exact strategy for all other social media platforms as well, not just Twitter.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.

    1. Get an auto responder and build a list of subscribers. Then email your list frequently with great content and offer your list products to buy that complements the content you frequently emailing your list. Create a buyers list from those on your list who buys the products you offer for sale, and up sell your buyers list on higher priced offers. Rinse and repeat.

Just make sure the products you offer your email list resonates with your blog readers. for example, don't blog about dating and relationships, but you're selling dog food to your list of subscribers. Be congruent

    Hello

The most important thing to do is build a email list and keep in contact with them. The money is in the list I am sure you have heard this before many times.

Make sure to not just promote you products but also provide free information and person side bits. So that they feel they know you and are in turn are more like to read more emails and buy your products.

Its all about finding your group and make sure to keep them happy and they will keep buying new stuff you recommend and come out with.

I think you are on the right track, since you know which niche and audience you want to go after.
But here is my little advise for you ---BE FOCUS.
Start with one traffic method first and then as you are getting result, you can then branch out.
Make sure to have an optin form on your blog from the get go, so you can capture the email address of some of your visitor that like your content and want to learn more.
And be sure to use wordpress.org as your blogging platform.
As for autoresponder, if you are into IM/MMO Niche, I would suggest you go with Aweber or Getresponse and stick with the one you choose, both of them have 30 days trial period and there is a chance they extend it for you if you ask before the expiration date.
More so when starting out there is nothing wrong with double optin, because this enables you to get quality leads as oppose to a bunch of freebie seekers. You want to start your business on a solid foundation.
    I hope this help.

      Thank you sir

Could you please throw more light on what you mean by "there is nothing wrong with double optin, because this enables you to get quality leads as oppose to a bunch of freebie seekers"?

Celestine, when you use a single optin, they can use someone else email address just to get your freebie and that can put you in trouble with CAN SPAM. But when you use double optin they have to login to confirm that they own the email address they use. More so its been proven that those who take their time to double optin really like your content and want to learn more from you.
i hope you get the idea.

The most important thing is to take action.

You will eventually realise that there are so many new things to learn.

You would need to set aside a monthly budget for IM tools and the main ones will be your autoresponder and web hosting.

For tutorials, you can just head on to youtube and type what you want to learn. I think you will be able to find all the step by step training there.

In your post you said you're keen to 'learn, implement and earn'.

Then you asked , what would you recommend you research and learn.

But I'd recommend you focus on 'implement' more that researching and learning.

Doing something is a learning experience in itself. I've found the things I've learned from just doing something (when I have no real idea what I'm doing) have taught me more than anything.

    1. Take action

    2. Research and learn - from your experience doing #1.

You are on the right path if you want to sell your own product. List building would be a good start. When connecting with your audience for the first time, you want to aim in giving some free content so that you can gain trust etc.

I would be doing testing till your blue in the face.

.We are doing PPC <> Landing page <> Nuture lists, and then SELL them stuff <> $$

I have been doing this for years, and still the most profitable way I can find.

Forget the shiney objects or the products that come out that are flovour of the month.

Stick to longer term fundamentals and do it that way. This means you will always have a buesiness and always BE IN business, if you know what I mean.

Blogging, Youtube, Blah Blah Blah all a great way to spend time and they are contribute to traffic and branding. Very good thing.

Better, learn how to segment and market to email list. Its not hard, puts you in control and make you money every single day.

The Guru's from 7 year ago...you don't hear from them any more. They've made millions and still do, but without all the exposure. Simple...email marketing set up with a great autoresponder sequence and a stead source of real leads (No from solo list) mostly generated from media buys. These guys all pool their funds together generate millions of leads without any personal exposure.

It possible for anyone to do if you have a few basic skills and some time.

Selling your own product SOUNDS good...Ive sold TONS of my own products. Now I am an underground email marketer... Much Better

    Best of luck

Find problems in your niche then find ways to solve those problems. Teaching people what you learn is an excellent way to do it. I teach something called the "Learn and Teach" method. It's where you learn how to do something that solves a problem, get some results with what you've learned then teach it to other beginners. You can use this method to create lead magnets and full courses. Just keep it simple.

If time is on your side and you are not in a hurry to make money, finding who will buy your products is what I would do, that way you can communicate to these people and let them know what you will do for them.
