wordpress problemss

hi there i have problems with wordpress 2 problems to be exact

firstly i am getting confused on how to post i have 5 pages on my blog and after i make the first post i dont know how to make a second post on the same page, they keep coming up on the front page as uncategorized .
how do i put it on the page i want!!!!!!!!its driving me mad lol

2nd i made some categorys on my blog but im not sure how they work i made them and went to widgets added them to the sidebar but none of the ones i made are there!! i think im doing somthing stupid.

like i say i am no blog expert i make websites please could someone help me
or tell me where i can find wordpress for idiots lol

    Wordpress For Idiots...

    1. "Posts" and "Pages" are two different things... If you look at the link in my signature, the navigation at the top of my site are pages, the content on the front page are all posts.

    2. They're probably not showing up because you haven't used them yet. Categories won't show up until you've made a post and attached it to a category.

    So, you can't put a "Post" in a "Page"... I think that's your problem right there.

    Let me know if that helps, or if I need to clarify it more.

    how do i attatch it to a category?? i take it im better off making categorys than pages

    Actually, I think WP for idiots already exists.

    I'd be really surprised if it doesn't by now. (but I think I've seen it.)

    my guess is lots !!!
    i can do any website
    but i just started on blogs. the problem i found was im so used to websites that the blog concept is allien to me totally!!!! as for installing it!!! welll. i used wordpress FAMOUS 5 minute install OMG i tohught i was gonna need a new pc i was getting so mad.
    i think they presume you know about database set up ect ect i couldnt belive what i got myself into
    however this is only because i am into websites
    but im not going to give up i want to be good at both !!!!!

    when you make a post, there is a place on the right hand side to choose your categories. But there is a free tool that will make your life a lot easier on posting. It makes it really easy to insert images too. that tool is called Blog Desk and I believe you can get it at blogdesk [,] org.

    Oh, you can add your categories through this tool as well.
