How to Make Money Online Without A Passion?

What if You Don't Have a "Passion?"

They`re always saying to you that you should pick up a topic that you`re passionate about.

But frankly you`re not passionate about any of the big money making niches like health, money, relationships and so forth.

"So how can you pick a profitable niche marketing?"

In my opinion, you can get something proven to work that you are curious about.

So You don't need to be passionate if you've got curiosity.

What about your thoughts and insights

All my best,
-Omar

You've got a long ways to go If you think that list sums up big money niches.

Any niche with buyers can be a big money niche. Look at Themeforest, a single Wordpress theme (Avada) has made roughly $20 million in sales.

Web designers doing what they like to do, building sites/themes.

Sometimes, on a desert, having a pack of bottled water wouldn't require passion to sell it. People would kill to buy a bottle.

    Easy money, right?

    So sell things that sell.

    You'll become passionate later anyway.

Very good quote "sell things that sell". I used to spend so much time trying to figure out the least completion product, but with high search column, all those SEO stuff, but it just takes so much time before I feel I am ready to sell. Now I just pull up some popular sites and see what is selling and jump right on. Sometimes I am amazed how easy it actually works than you would think.

Look you don't need a passion...you can build a list and sell as an affiliate or sell traffic. It really is the easiest and most sure fire way to go. Honestly the easiest is just to build an IM list and promote quality products. I mean its much harder to build a list in some obscure niche.

    Good luck.

Whether you are passionate about the niche/model or not, consistency is what will eventually bring in the sales.
So keep your eyes on the prize and work towards it and you'l eventually make sales, Passion or No Passion.

  • Do you eat, sleep and drink?

Some people suffer from insomnia and would pay handsomely to have a decent 8 hour sleep at night

If you don't have a passion you would like to pursue just yet, then just find out what people are willing to pay you for and supply it to them as a product creator or affiliate marketer.

Passion is developed over time. Helping people solve their problems and getting paid for it will instill the passion for getting paid in you

I'd guess most people aren't passionate about hemorrhoids or warts, for example. There are still products and affiliate programs out there and people selling those products.

I think it's important to have passion but it's not always passion about your niche.

Some people are passionate about making money for various reasons. To support their family, to travel the world, to buy their own lear jet. A WHY can create passion.

Some people are passionate about the process. They love creating a business, building funnels or websites, and seeing the process work.

Some people are passionate about helping other people and the money is just icing on the cake.

I do agree that if you're going to write your own content you need a strong interest in your topic or you're going to struggle.

have a large market for your niche..if not pick another
find a good price point for your niche by doing a price comparison
then use your free blog or website as your landing page
you want to link your niche to your landing page and do all of your creation/sales here
    then
drive traffic from fb groups or paid traffic to your landing page to make sales to your visitors

You can simply be passionate about marketing.

Also, one should be cautious about just choosing based on passion. Not everything that someone can have a passion for is necessarily monetizable.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers because there's no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a purchase to be made.

For example, some of the niches I have done extremely well with are insurance, education, credit, loans, debt, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

I have absolutely no passion specifically for any of those niches. However, I have a passion for the marketing process and don't look at my job as work and enjoy it.

I see all kinds of comments by 'experts' saying you don't need passion.

    Look...

Products don't sell by themselves. And you aren't on the desert or trying to sell wart or hemorrhoid ointment.

You are here in the internet la la land still trying to figure stuff out.

So what you will figure out is this online success will definitely take a lot out of you.

I am not passionate about Network Marketing. I am not a Network Marketer.

But I do sell systems and tools to Network and Affiliate Marketers.

I am not passionate about that either.

But I am passionate about the end result of building my brand online.

So in order for you not to quit and actually see this thing out...

You better damn well be 'passionate' about something.

One thing I have realized over the years is that no matter what we do it can become somewhat mundane at some point.

I tell myself that having a happy customer is my biggest motivator to stick with something and remain passionate about it. That's pretty much it.

It really does not matter the Market or Niche you choose as long as it is proven to be profitable and not going to die out next year. Unless you are intentionally doing some hit it and quit it type promoting.

I tend to lean more to the possibility of Outsourcing and automating as many operational activities as possible as a big motivator in selection anyway.

I think there is something more important than passion. Is your drive, faith and belief that will make you success and continue go forward.

I believe you have heard a lot of stories like in huge debt but for force to find something to clear the debt if not family will suffer and blah blah blah..... Then their come back story....

But the main point here is there are looking for solution to their problem, you think most of their success come from passion or from no choice have to look for a solution may or may not be their passion and push themselves? Is the drive to let their family to survive and not suffer push them. Is the faith in the solution that will solve the problem and the belief that it will work.

I tried my best to explain this. Anyway this is my personal view, no right or wrong answer. lol...

I don't think you need a passion to profit on the internet. You can promote affiliate offers to make a decent monthly income, but that can only take you so far. Also, it might just help you to find a niche your passionate about. To take you business to the next level you will eventually have to find that passion niche that will allow you to produce your own products to promote.

I am in Canada and can only speak regarding North America.

There are a ton of folks...

Millions every single day who start some kind of venture online.

But most 97% (or more) never see things through after discovering that there is a lot of work involved.

Many end up staying in their jobs because there is less pain for letting themselves fail than going through the grind every single day.

But then there are others who will experience pain and torment and even suffering if they don't succeed.

Some people want FREEDOM and independence from a traditional job.

And if they don't get this thing...they will cry like babies.

They are the type of person who has No Plan B.

    This is there only plan.

These types of people will push through no matter what.

They will get knocked down to their knees and then get back up and will keep moving forward because...

They are passionate about their Freedom.

So who ever lives in countries like Canada and US...

Who aren't passionate about some aspect of online success, will end up putting their tails between their legs and running back to their jobs after the big aha moment...

That there's a lot of work in IM.

But in other parts of the world, some people have to succeed in the world of Entrepreneurialism...

Here is a story from a place in the Caribbean where I was born.

There aren't ample jobs in Guyana like there are here in North America.

I actually met this guy personally.

I asked him what drives him.

Do you know what he said?

He said he is very very 'passionate' about providing a house, lots of food and other gifts for his wife and children.

Luckily for his family he lives with passion...or else they would really suffer.

I can't help but laugh to this headline of yours. Of course, you can also make money online without it but I doubt the longevity of your business if it is successful or not. As far as I know in every business, it is important that you love what you're doing and you have passion on the things you're doing. Otherwise, burn out and failure will come your way.

No. That would be food, water, clothing and shelter. A job helps, but is not necessary.

Passion may be the single-most overrated word in IM. It's a meaningless canard trotted-out by those who wouldn't know an action plan if it bit them on the ass.

I'll give you your passion and I'll take just being interested and knowledgeable at something enough to be proficient at it. We'll see who makes the most money and who enjoys their life more.

For some passion may mean just being able to spend more time with loved ones...being able to live a 'simple' life...more time to spend in nature etc.

For others passion may mean being able to go out on Vacations while the masses are 'still' at work and school.

But most who venture into this industry claim they are just here for money.

Money can be made at a traditional job.

If you don't have enough passion regarding your WHY...

Your reason for being in a tough industry like this one, then you most likely won't last here very long.

This is what I believe that when someone tries to do what others are doing even when they don't like it then it does not work. Specially for building a business.

Every business starts with an idea. And that idea always leads to money.

Show me one business that has been setup that do not want to make money.

The challenge is that if you have a passion that no one shares then you cannot build a business. But if you have a passion and then you can channel that passion in a way that it becomes a need or want of people then it will become a successful business.

I will give you one example.

Remember BlackBerry Mobile. They were the original smart phones. They made phones that Executives and Directors and VP would use. The phones were costly and they made it look like only people who wear suits will use that phone. Now that was their market. So their slogan was that Smart People use BlackBerry.

Not that put off a lot of people who could not afford a BlackBerry or who thought you required a particular skill to use BlackBerry.

iPhone came and changed that. In his keynote presentation Steve Jobs turned the table on BlackBerry. He explained for the first iPhone that was launched that anyone a Grandmother, A housewife, A child could use a iPhone. He went on to say that those who will use iPhone will become smart. They don't need a smart phone because iPhone was a smart phone that will make them smart.

We know the rest of the story BlackBerry went into Bankruptcy and iPhone became the sensation to sell 1 billion units of its phone.

Now coming back to passion both the companies and CEOs were passionate about technology and what technology could do for people and business. But one CEO focused on Executives and Entrepeuners and other one focused on Common People. And that was different.

You may be passionate about swimming or yoga. Or you may like Oragami. But how to you start bringing the people to become interested with the passion you have is what will help you to build a business.

I know people who made money just because of their passion mixing music that's how DJ were born. They did something people never thought would be useful. But they build an entire industry out of it.

I know people who make money from surfboards. There were Surf Boards from a long long time. But when someone came up with an idea of electric boards that changed the way people interected with surfboards. So the passion was turned into business.

There are hundreds of other examples.

But start with passion because if you are passionate about something it is easier to explain. Then you need creativity to tell your story in the way people understand and connect. If people start connecting then you have a business.

If you don't have a customer then passion is just a hobby not a business.

Best of luck - Building a business out of your passion.
    Amit

Earning money can be easy for someone but most of the bloggers or other online workers have to face a lot of problems. They are still trying and some of them give up because they don't get any good result.

Passion is a meaningless buzzword that people talk about because it's easy and makes it seem like they're giving sage advice when they aren't.

Are there people truly passionate about their niche, their product, their work? Absolutely there are. And there are plenty of them that succeed. There are also plenty of them that don't succeed. How many musicians do you think are truly passionate about music but make meager incomes doing what they love? Plenty. Now money isn't the only measure of success of course, but in the context of this thread...

Likewise, there are plenty of people who are not passionate about their work, but are disciplined, are resourceful, are intelligent, are competent, and succeed just fine.

I'm currently in the process of getting out of my dream job. Literally the job I wanted when I was a little kid. It's been a hell of a ride and quite an experience, and I feel truly fortunate I was able to do it, but it taught me something very important about myself. Doing this thing that I loved, was passionate about, and dreamt of since childhood still became work, and it ended up eating away my love and passion for it. Something I wasn't willing to allow happen.

I learned that whatever I do for work is going to become work, and I'm going to end up thinking of it and treating it like work. So the things I truly love in life, I've learned need to be kept as just that, things I do for the love of it, not as work.

There are people who are "live to work" people, and God bless 'em. That's truly great if they enjoy that. There are also people who are "work to live" people. That's me. My most cherished goal is work-life balance over all else. I want to keep my passions protected from becoming work.

Does this mean I'm doomed to failure? Am I sure to be a flop because I'm not passionate about the work I do, but instead do it as a source of income that keeps me alive and going so I can stop working at the end of the day and go do the things I like?

    Of course not. That's silly.

Listen, to people who find a way to turn things they love or are passionate about into work and find a way to keep from burning out on those things, you have my true admiration. But anyone who says "you need to be passionate" or you'll fail is full of crap, plain and simple.

Passion in the context of this thread is a buzzword. Don't confuse it for anything else.

One should also never confuse passion for job satisfaction. It's entirely possible to find satisfaction in work you are not passionate about.

I have no idea why you would devote more than 10 seconds to anything in life, biz-wise, you do not feel passionate about Omar. Does not compute, does not compute, feeling like a robot here that cannot process this idea

You can make money with curiosity sparking things, but following your passion makes it easier to make money. Why take the more difficult path? I mean, it will be difficult in spots no matter what, but the curious almost always quit (passing interest) when times get tough while the passionate blast through any obstacles that arise during tough times.

I don't think it usually works out that the things people are passionate about end up being the things that they make the most money with. In some cases, not being passionate about a niche is a GOOD thing. That means you wont get attached to it and the products you are selling. You will wind up knowing more about this non-passionate niche than another project that really interests you, but the non-passionate niche can possibly make you more money. And there are a ton of niches out there. TONS of them.

That is true. In that case you become a Master of finding what people want and not what you like. And the best business any day is find out what people want and give it to them. This is the easiest business model and the simplest to get started and done without thinking much.

The first thing is to do research on a particular thing you think people might be interested.

Then you drill down and listen to all the conversation around that thing we describe as a niche.

Next you find good products that can serve all these people in the niche that solve the problems these people have in their conversations.

Finally you get sales and make money.

This is the easiest four step formula that often we ignore. Even I have ignored for very long till I understood this clearly. Thanks to my mentor. After that there was no looking back.

Thanks for putting this in perspective for me.

Choose such type of income scheme that don't need much effort and work like tools...I mean that don't need long term work without result ...because in that case your only motivation will be money

When I first started blogging, I chose high monthly search volume in google with keywords that had high competition. I was new to blogging at the time and wasn't sure what I was doing, but I had high hopes which I thought was all that I thought mattered. Months went by and zero results only made my self esteem crash harder. All the passion in the world means nothing with no experience in whatever you plan on doing.
After learning to refocus my efforts on slightly lesser monthly traffic from google (around 10K - 100k monthly) I decided to also target low competition keywords with longer tail keywords and focus on that market. And with some patience I started to finally see a profit. I am still learning, but experience beats out passion any day.

Passion is a meaningless buzzword that people talk about because it's easy and makes it seem like they're giving sage advice when they aren't.
Exactly right. There are a number of members of this forum who fit this example perfectly.

It's what people say when they have no real experience or knowledge to share.

For me being "Passionate" simply means being passionate about your Online Venture.

Sure you can be just all about making money (etc.) however it doesn't even come close to doing something you're "passionate" about, It's not a buzzword ― it's a philosophy and a good one at that.

Not to speak for anyone else, but I believe he means that you are so entrenched in your beliefs, which you hold as undeniably true, that you don't leave room for the possibility to learn or accept anything new that contradicts your strongly-held beliefs.

In order to achieve enlightenment, you need a totally-open mind that is welcoming of concepts and precepts that don't align with your current way of thinking, in any way, shape or form.
