Flash? NO! Gif. This image fooled me. where are all the great GIF artists?

Hi All,

I was on a news site and one of the posters had an avatar. I thought surely it must be flash it was so smooth. I left clicked to get the flash info and it was GIF.

Why aren't there any good GIF artists doing WSOs.

Yes, it's very good, isn't it? About 56kb, mind you, but that's GIF, I suppose?

well, the fact is you can make any animation into a gif, so this is probably done on a 3D pack and converted to gif. i do that with Flash all the time (export as gif that is).
cool loop though...

That is good work.

I tried something earlier this year, but was never able to get the motion smooth enough for the beta clients. Always seemed too choppy no matter how many frames I did.

Even at ridiculously high numbers of frames (and file size), the motion never smoothed out enough.

So, kudos to whoever did that ying-yang animated GIF!

Ya, that's totally sweet. I had this one made a year ago. The guys that know what they are doing really know what they are doing. I'm not one of them.

And, an internet friend was selling a coin on ebay. I had to mess with it

I used to love doing animations, but have gotten away from it for the last couple of years.

Hi All,

Thanks for the other examples. I've always liked GIF animation. These have been very entertaining.

I'll never forget the first GIF I ever saw. It was a picture of a public speaker. The only thing that moved was his mouth and his arms flapping up and down, nothing in between, up down, loop.

I think my favorite one was of some penguins. They are walking around and one penguin knocks another one in the icy water. I'll see if I can find it if someone doesn't beat me too it.
