Looking for Suggestions on Content Monetization. This One Could be Tricky!

I have a friend who lives in Canada. He has been writing a column for his local paper for 4 years. He owns the content of those columns (he checked). Knowing I was dabbling in internet marketing, he asked me if I could help him figure out a way to monetize this 4-years-worth of content. (And he's still writing the column.)

Now, about the column and the content. He is an Anglican priest, so his columns are religion-oriented. That being said, his outlook on religion and life in general is very progressive-liberal. His columns are insightful, interesting, and sometimes controversial. They make for great reading, wonderful discussions, and sometimes, heated debate.

Any suggestions on how he can monetize around this content? He's looking to put money away for his retirement. He's not really interested in affiliate marketing.

    1. He could run a blog and add his newspaper articles to the blog each week. The blog could be monetized with suitable adds ie amazon for books etc and other suitable affiliate products.

    2. Give people access to the library of articles by running a paid membership site.

    3. Sell the articles with rights to purchasers to re-sell/giveaway the articles without any changes allowed.

These are just a few quick thoughts.

The books on Amazon idea is especially good. He's well read, and would be able to recommend a lot of good books. Thank you.

You can sign up as an Amazon "associate" and put a widget on websites/blogs with your associate link.
