Hello to all, I'll try to keep this concise and I've left the main questions in purple below. I've taken on a lot of the advice and have been going over the forum divulging as much info as I can, currently at a stage where I'm ready to spread my wings and fly, take action and deliver massive value to the biggest market place in the world (ahem, the internet) whilst continuing my education. I'd like to thank all those who have helped guided me immensely and hope that some of the following questions can be clarified as I'm at a stage of information overload (almost) mixed with some confusion. 1. What sort of tools/softwares do you use for your Affiliate Marketing work; and 2. Are you quite technically minded with computers? i.e. can program/write code pretty well (or is the technical stuff outsourced and you work on the creative side of things along with the basic technical ins and outs) Mainly curious about what you use to make your pages. I'm looking into learning html, using a sitebuilder or buying some program like dreamweaver, but would like to see what you guys would recommended before I jump in. So far in my journey of two weeks of exposure I've managed to accomplish: 1) Getting a domain! 2) Web Host (Hostgator) 3) Constant and never ending increase of knowledge + wisdom + action taking Taking it one step at a time as I'm not from a technically savvy background, damn regretting doing an accounting + finance degree to some extent lol! On my to obtain list is: 1. market samurai 2. ppc coach subscription Resources available atm: 1. Tight budget of $5000 (Short term goal is to make an average of $50/day and learn a strong foundation by the end of the year ~3months to go!) 2. Dedication: I have been spending at least 2-4 hours every day after work, kinda obsessed with the whole idea of being able to retire at 19 years old!! I can show my parents that being an accountant/lawyer/doctor doesn't mean **** as I live my dreams and live the Life!! I guess in summary what I'm trying to ask is, which tools would you recommend that has helped you personally to achieve success, if you don't mind helping out a young aspiring kid with some direction. You guys have been one of the greatest things that has happened to me, an inspiration of many levels. I hope to repay you all in multiples as I succeed. My deepest Respect and appreciation, Al |

Im new to this also. I am trying to make $75 a day by the end of the year. That is my goal. Right now I got some products that Im promoting and some videos put up on youtube. Now I have to learn to get the traffic that is needed to get some sales. Which is what I was hoping the videos would do, but I guess there is alot more than that. So knowing where to post and how to write articles is the key to this business. Which is what Im learning also. Good Luck |

All of my websites are built with the website builder that comes with CPanel, plus a little extra HTML knowledge (not much). One of my better ones, I built with a free trial of Microsoft Expression Web. If you have some cash, I like that one, but I have no idea how much it costs. |

Sounds like you have the right tools on your list. I haven't tried PPC coach, but I do have MS and it is very good. Are you using articles to market yet? That is a good medium for someone on a tight budget. |

other useful "tools" -- 1. popup software (like Robert Plank's Action Popup) 2. an AR account (like aweber) 3. helpdesk software (some comes ready to install off of fantastico) 4. product download protection software (e.g., dlguard) 5. KompoZer is my wysiwyg html editor of choice (coffee cup has its fans, too.) When I look at the prices of DreamWeaver, it near takes my breath away. messing with PPC isn't necessary. It's not something I would purchase. There are other things far more important. ![]() Live JoyFully! Judy Doing stuff I love: Copywriting, Webmastering, Marketing -- how can I help you? |

Hi, As an affiliate marketer your function is to generate traffic. Targeted traffic off course. If you are not experienced with PPC, it's best to forget it until you are making money with other methods. Other methods: - building SE optimized sites and get them on 1st page in google for your target keywords - building a list and promoting your affilaite links to your list. To build SEO sites you can use XSitePro. It's cheaper than DW and easier to use if you cannot code. To protect and track your links you can use either GoTryThis or Ninja Link Cloaker. To build a list you will need to use Aweber or Getresponse autoresponder service. |

I've said this before and let me say it again Use googles keyword search tool BEFORE you buy a domain name.ALL NEWBIES MAKE THIS MISTAKE.Me included and NEVER AGAIN. GOOGLE KEYWORD TOOL Whatever iche' you decide to go into BE SURE to find out what keywords are being searched.THEN BUY A DOMAIN NAME..Good ranking and good traffic will come effortlessly. You don't even have to mess with much in your soure code of the sites pages Example...I made a video of how to install a shopping cart for the wordpress blog platform.Because when I used it..it was hard to figure it out in the beginning. But once I got it figured out I knew I had to help others be able to install it more easily>Hence >new product that solved a problem!I did a keyword search---found that shopping cart for wordpress was being decently searched. Found that shoppingcartforwordpress as a .com name was available/Bought it.Put the site together and within 1 week it was ranked #1 for that search term.(shoppingcartforwordpress) and NO-ONE WILL EVER BECOME #1 for that term.So do not be afraid to use long domain names.Trying to use a catchy short domain name is hard to brand! (unless it's a product name that you came up with and the domain name is available) Then by using affiliate marketing through places like clickbank>>The affiliates themselves will help your site and it will start to rank higher because of the traffic they are sending there. BRANDING A PRODUCT NAME AND ALWAYS/ALWAYS squeeze the new viewer for name and e-mail/by GIVING them something of value that is relevant to your product for FREE! That way you can come back with later offers via autoresponder for a different sale.Even if they did buy from you the first time,Folowing me? FREE does = $$$$. Most others here will know this but you did say that you were new and I just thought you should be clear on how to make $$ being a marketer.Concentrate on building your list.THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST |

My recommendations are: Buy domain names : Namecheap Hosting : Hostgator Tech stuff : Corey Rudl from easytechvideos - cheap and excellent Blogs : John Yeo - reasonable priced and good value Chris Farell membership site to ensure longlasting success - great guy and seldom sell you stuff exactly what you need. You do'nt want to get distracted. Hosting included with his membership. It took me months to come across the above - believe me they are the best options and is affordable if you are just starting out. Don't fall for the next big thing, The above will teach you all the basics and when you have you're basic fundamentals right you're on the road to success. Stay away from anything else. Best of luck and keep on going. |

Awesome, cheers guys for your prompt responses. Some very insightful things you guys have mentioned! I have been dabbling in learning some basic html and wordpress these days. Also been considering to outsource much of the technical stuff. Might be moving on to wix once they are a little more seo friendly via their work in progress html editor. Thanks again! |
