Allen - I like the new note!

What a polite way to do it - just a simple line saying "please check out....when you get a chance"

And my name is there - it's just for Meeeee!

Good one!

Thanks Allen for the personalized note - very effective!

It got me to look at the WSO JV you are proposing - or was that a secret!

I agree, it is subtle and by having our username does help to attract attention.

    Nice one

It's so subtle that I only found it after reading this thread - and then I had to hunt all over the screen to find out what you were talking about - lol

Yeah, I do too Kay and started a thread about it yesterday which seems to
      be gone.

I especially noted the "please" and "thanks" which makes it very non
      intrusive and pleasant.

Can't imagine why that thread would have been removed as it was as
      innocuous as you can get.

Oh well, thanks for bringing this back up because it's a great lesson in
      marketing.

Hi Allen, that's an impressive bit of marketing. Is it a regular VB mod or have you coded it yourself?

My! My! Aren't we all informal and direct. "Allen"? Obviously you didn't see the other pop-up, advising us to refer to the Monkey God as "His Alleness" from now on. Tsk. Tsk. I see some Warriors who will be doing latrine duty.

            Indeed.

And it shows you who actually followed the link and who didn't. Because if they had followed the link, they would have learned to say "His Alleness" rather than being so embarrassingly informal.

In my browser, Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11, the notice is so unintrusive that it's bottom pixels is hidden behind the browsers status bar.

              Anyone better?

Very nice touch to the forum and gathering information.

I remember back in 1992 about a computer magazine I had subscribed to that one of the advertisers used my name when selling certain computers. I thought it was kind of neat that the advertisement was made especially for me.

If anyone remembers, it was the old Zeos computer.

Okay, people are probably going to hate me, but I found it wasn't noticeable enough! LOL! I didn't see it until reading this thread.

Gee, Allen, you can't win: people complain when it's too noticeable and then complain when it's not noticeable...

Actually, since it's a War Room announcement, I'd guess that only War Room members see the announcement.

I definitely like the new bar (on my screen it says "The War Room" - Best thing that ever happened to internet marketing) better than the triangle. I was clicking that thing at least a dozen times a day by accident. I think the Triangle was more attention getting but I'd have liked it better in the bottom left corner rather than bottom right. But this is great because it doesn't block any content.

Sorry, but that's crap. You can be serious about IM without joining a forum.

In all honesty, this really isn't a valid statement.

You can be serious about your business without joining the War Room.

I don't think Frank Kern is a member of the War Room and he is certainly
serious about his business. So it's kind of an untrue statement.

Having said that, can you learn from the War Room?

Of course you can...tons. But even if you don't join it, you can still be
serious about your business and still actually have success online.

In other words, the War Room has great value, but it is not a matter
of life and death as far as being a successful marketer.

        That's all I'm saying.
