Most professional free ebook cover designer?

I want to design a cover for my new ebook and videos. Being the cheapskate that I am, I am looking for a free way to create these and am hoping for something that looks professional.

DOes anyone know of any good cover designers and tools out there that won't cost me anything? Or is this just wishful thinking.

All links and advice would be appreciated, because all the free ones I found so far looks crap. Looks like it came from the 60's.

Believe me that is a 100% true statement, I have a few examples that can back that statement up

If you have photoshop you can make reasonably good ones using an action script for free.

This tutorial and all the others I've found seem to only work with the newest photoshop.

I'm using photoshop elements 5.0 and can't seem to figure out how to install actions. Is this me being stupid or is there a way to use Elements and action scripts?

      Thanks!

If you have something decent to sell and it has a ready market for it, wouldn,t you be best to get it in their hands fast...and make bank?

And if this is the case, why dick around on something new which has a learning curve...?

Now if you want to get your designs up fast, then here's the guy I use on Scriptlance
        ...designer4u

Here,s the review I gave him...

Review: Asked for a sample from Alex before I chose him. What seemed like minutes he had an e-book cover made up. Not only that, the image he used was what I had been hunting for days! Perfect. He also freely gives ideas on how to enhance what you have in mind. I honestly don,t know how you could end up with better end result. Thank you Alex

He has a stack of kickass reviews too.

Are you going to stay tinkering or cashing in?

ok.. go to tradebit. You'll find a cheap deal for sure. I found a pack for like $0.75. Nice deal, I'd say.

This website has a tutorial on how to make your own eBook covers. It's pretty cool and you can view it at eBook Cover Tutorial. Hope this helps.
