I have just started working on a blog, so do I have to face copyright issues if I take a video from YouTube and some photos from google and apply to my blog

    If you added a Youtube video without any edits and use it as embeded code than it will be ok. Don't use images from Google as it is copyrighted and you will face legal issues with it. You can use shuttershock or pixabay to get images for your blog.

    if you use the share feature on youtube videos to embed on your site then you should be OK. As for images, you need to buy the rights for most images.

    Without editing the YouTube video you can add it in your blog no issue, However contact the YouTube channel owner take permission before doing that.

    If the YouTube video has a share button you can use it. Hit share then embed. Copy and paste the code onto your site.

    As far as pictures are concerned this is an easy way to find free pictures. Google then hit images then hit tools then hit usage rights then hit free to use.

      You're half right.

      Using the YT embed code is the right way to post videos on your blog. YT's TOS for uploading videos spells out YT having permission to allow other sites to embed videos without further need from the video owner.

      Using the Google image filters is dangerous business. If you actually read what Google has to say about the filters, you'll see why. Google does no due diligence to determine whether or not the person/company offering "free to use" rights has the right to do so. All they do is read what the poster has available.

      If I were dumb enough to do it, I could steal a Getty image and post with with "free to use" rights. And if you were dumb enough to use the image, we'd both end up owing Getty Images a pot of money for unauthorized use of their intellectual property.

      If they decided to sue, "Google said it was okay" is not a legitimate defense.

      Best to use real stock photography, as mentioned above, or Creative Commons images with the free to use license. Keep a copy of the license as proof of your right to use the image.

          Don't worry about it. This bit of misinformation gets added to just about every discussion involving finding images online.

          And using that Google image search isn't necessarily a bad first step. Once you find an image you want to use, though, you need to take additional steps to verify that you can, in fact, use it.

    I don't see why it'd be a problem. Helps the YouTuber if you share their video. Helps YouTube...kind of the point.

    YouTube Embed has been covered, so you're good.

    As for images, if you want freebies and would like to snazz them up a bit, use Canva. Easy way to add text and when you do image searches for a healthy volume of keywords you will find a few free images in addition to images to buy for $1 USD per picture. Nice option for creating a professional-looking presentation.

    You could always use paint can lol. I have done this.

    Also...

    WordPress has some awesome pictures 'already' built into their themes.

    A lot of free pictures that are free and free from copyright issues.

    They are ready for all WP users.

    Just fiddle around in the dashboard section...I can't remember off hand exactly where they are.

    You can totally embed any Youtube video you want. It's not claiming it as your own. The visitor can click over to visit the Youtube channel if they want to subscribe. Most Youtubers WANT you to share their content since they get paid by ad impressions.
