Hi everyone,

Newbie here! I'm considering joining the AF world and was hoping you guys would be able to help me out. When you first started out, what was most difficult for you? For me, whilst i'm starting out, i'm getting stuck in analysis paralysis at times and end up not being sure where to begin! Also, how easy/quickly can I lose money when an ad goes bad? I've read about other people finding working with a budget pretty difficult at the start. Can you guys advise me on what else could set me back or has set you back before, and is there anything I can do to prevent or overcome them? Its a pretty daunting thought of finding a way to be able to run profitable campaigns again and again.

Finally, do you know of any good social media places, blogs or youtube channels fellow AFers hang out? I'm setting out on this path as a woman in her early 20s and I'm not sure where I can find other people like me in the AF world.

Thank you
Libby

  • Affiliate marketing is good place to making money, Before start to promote any product have to learn end to end else you will lose money in you pocket over night.
My suggestion to all newbie buy some affiliate course E-Book and learn step by step process, how the affiliate network will work , it will give good ROI,
Most of the YouTube videos and Blog's they promote the affiliate link directly, Always create landing page, build your list. then promote your offer.

There are a good amount of FB groups for internet and aff. marketing. Just do a search.

The old paralysis by analysis can get most newbies every time. Best thing to do is take a step forward even though it may be uncomfortable or unnatural. You do this and it will start getting easier and easier to implement Action on a consistent basis..

At first, yeah, it's hard. I think anything worth doing is like that. But if you stick with it, it gets easier and more rewarding. I know a guy in New Zealand who started out 10 years ago doing only affiliate marketing and is making about $30,000 million a year now. He has his own products now too, but he started as only an affiliate.

Good to see you here Libby

Explore topics that feel fun to explore, as far as picking niches. Let your imagination play a little bit. Then as you research some on Warrior, follow Robert's advice down below. Do those uncomfortable things - and many things will feel uncomfortable as a new IMer - that help you grow. What was once uncomfortable becomes easier, 1 step at a time.

    Hi Libby,

Your post sounds exactly like me when I was starting out. I'm sure many other people can testify to the same.

You are entering a new world and it is just natural to be overthinking and overanalysing EVERYTHIING. That just shows how curious you are, so keep up the spirit. But then again, don't let it stress you too much. My advise would be that you give yourself a time allowance to learn, to make mistakes, and to get better. The most important thing is that you dedicate some time each day to self education. All the questions that you asked in the post require extensive studies to fully grasp.

You can find tons of useful content on social media strategies, SEO, blogging, etc. The only way to getting better and avoid making too many mistakes is by taking the time to educate yourself on the subject. Things will click once you fully understand IM; and only then will be able to run profitable campaigns again and again. Don't get discouraged by the challenges or the amount of things that you're yet to understand. Even taking baby steps, everyday, can get you there.

All the best in your journey!

Would not recommend affiliate marketing to someone just starting out to be honest because it can take a lot of time before you stat making money, but there is definitly a lot of money to be made that way

    Hi Libby,

First of all, welcome to the forum!

I do understand all the questions, one thing that helped me was to learn from someone that knew this IM stuff better than me, in my case when I started out I learned a lot from and old WF tribe member and his name is Willie Crawford, always very friendly and helpful

If you look around this forum you'll find his posts. Of course there are lots of other people to learn from here.

Now, talking about one of the problems I faced when I started online was that the language barrier, the fear of not being able to comunicate properly, anyhow, as usual, that fear was only inside my head as you'll discover on your journey.

Remember, you don't have to be perfect, non of us are.

Keep up with the great job,

    Robin

For newbie, I recommend affiliate marketing.

You can start by choosing a niche.

    Setup a blog.

Post quality content on regular basis (ie: daily)

Give away something for free to build list.

Promote affiliate offers through autoresponder messages.

It's normal to over analyse because there is just too much information around.

However, the best thing is to learn one thing and try to apply it straightaway and see if it works for you.

Know what to expect from what you are doing. If you are blogging, do expect that traffic will only come after a period of time, may take months to years.

If you are going into video marketing first, persevere through the initial stages of having no followers / views.

If you are going into email marketing, you will need to learn how to build a basic funnel to earn money via CPA / affiliate marketing.

If you need to learn new things, just go to youtube and type out what you want to learn. I am sure there are plenty of things for you to learn there.

Keep in mind that there is a big world outside of promoting MMO offers / selling products and services.

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for over 16 years.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight up purchase offers. However, mass appeal needs to exist and I look for one of the following to also exists:

    1) The product is New and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem. Which most of all of the above I will promote on the back-end.

However, the real bottom line is that it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to consider.

Like anything on the Internet there are all types of ways you can do affiliate marketing and it is easy to get lost when trying to make a decision about which way you want to go.
    Some of the systems include
Blogging and using advertising on your blog
Review Blogging - Doing product reviews on your Blog

Launch Jacking - Promoting products when they are launched and trying to be found on the search engines when people are looking for info.

Video marketing- doing video reviews of new products

    Promoting courses and events.

As you can see there is a huge number of ways you can do affiliate marketing so find yourself someone who is successful and model what they do
