Problems with Firefox

Hello everyone,
I updated Firefox and all the plugins for it yesterday and now everytime I try to use it I get a window that says it has crashed and is unable to restore my tabs. When I open up a new session I get my home page but if I try to go anywhere it crashes.

I'm unable to do anything so I have no idea how to look around to try to figure out what might have happened.

Anyone else having problems with firefox since doing the update?

I'm on explorer now and I hate it so really would appreciate any help.

Thanks very much!

Mm

Uninstall Firefox completely and download the old version here Old Version of Firefox Download - OldApps.com

Install the old version again. Make a back up copy of all your bookmarks and add on before you uninstall. Otherwise, switch to Flock. Just as good ...

Thanks for your reply and I will do that if I have to but I may have got it figured out.
I went into my tools menu and then to add-ons and started uninstalling until now it seems to work again.

I believe if anyone is interested the add-on that was crashing Firefox was the Firefox screen capture add-on.

When I uninstalled that add-on Firefox seems to have come back to life. Of coarse I had to do a restart but I'm there!

      Thanks very much!

I had the very same thing happen last week on a newly installed version of Firefox, which had no add-ons. I completely uninstalled it. Then I re-installed it, and it works fine.

    some handy tips:
    1. You can have MULTIPLE copies of Firefox running, using different profiles.
I HIGHLY encourage you to check out the information on this that is available all over the Internet.

For instance, I have a super-stripped down version of Firefox that I use for all my banking/paypal/etc processing.

Understand that any extension you run, any toolbar -- has access to all the webpages you download. Don't believe me? You should check out Steve Fullman's brilliant demonstration of this here:

Now, if someone could tell me why Firefox seems to truly love to suck up resources -- both cpu & memory -- and how I can whip it back into shape, I would really appreciate it.

Also -- why, sometimes, when I got to a site where I have a roboform login -- the page just sits there -- for minutes! (sometimes I give up and just kill Firefox and relaunch it -- which has its own problems.) -- And I can't do anything with the page -- when I try, all I get is a "klink" sound.

    Appreciate any help in advance.

    Live JoyFully!

How can I help you? Copywriting? Script Installation? Webmastering stuff?
