An Experience With Passwords And Roboform2go
Recently, I had to take one of my computers into the shop. I thought I might need to access some sites while I was there, so I stuck my USB drive in my pocket and took it with with me. BIG MISTAKE: I lost my USB drive. It must have happened when I pulled my keys out of my pocket as I was leaving the shop.
When I got home, I realized what had happened. I immediately called support and told them. They maintain your purchase info and control how many active downloads you have. They reset my download, which meant that all I had to do was download Roboform2go on another USB, and Roboform on my lost USB would be dead.
Because I also had roboform on another key, it was a simple matter to synchronize them to get the new one up to speed. I was up and running in about 10 minutes.
It is unlikely that a malicious person, who would know how to use my lost USB had found it, but if that had happened the only thing they could do, was to re-format the drive so they could use it for other things. My info was worthless to them. The support guy told me it would never be a problem as long as I used a password to protect my USB.
It was a good lesson for me, so I'm passing it along for anyone else who might benefit from my experience.
