Default WP noob question

How do I change the displayed titles of the widgets in my sidebar, such as Search, Categories, Archive, etc.?

For example, if I wanted the "Archive" box to be called "Old Posts" instead?

Thanks.

Just go to the Appearance tab and then widgets, there you should be able to drag and remove any widgets that you don't want.

I just want to rename the title bar of the widget. look at iccuniversity dot com. I want to rename the "Testimonials" box to say "Tech-Tips" instead.

WP is the least user-friendly blog ever.

Blogger gets deleted at Google's will but so much easier to set up!

From the Dashboard, go to Appearance, Widgets.

Select the Widget you want to enter and click on the down arrow to expand the box. That should reveal editing options. Change the Title to Tech-Tips and click on Save.

That should do it.

It depends on what theme you are using. Some themes have the sidebar elements (widgets) already in the sidebar.php file.

If you have added widgets using the appearance -> widgets (WP 2.7+) then you can use the Wordpress admin to open these and change the titles in there.

If they are already in the sidebar and you haven't added any widgets via the dashboard then you could got to appearance -> editor and open sidebar.php

You will see the existing titles in there - change them to your preferred titles.

Any problems, send me a PM.

I feel like such an idiot. I looked everywhere but for that little down arrow next to the title.

I also feel like an idiot for spending an hour trying to figure it out myself rather than just posting the question here in the first place.

Love you guys!
