If you had a no-brainer product...

I pose a question for all of you wonderful folks!

If you had a no-brainer product that could suit nearly anyone operating in the eCom/Wholesale/Dropship market...

Would you give it away in hopes of building a list on cross promotion links?

Or would you sell the product outright and provide value to the group of people who purchased?

It all depends upon what your market research has told you.

Does the product satisfy an obvious high demand that niche prospects are clamoring for?

Are there other competitors in the niche offering the same or similar products? If so, what are they selling for? What chance do you have of grabbing a corner of the market?

Do you have other products/services in the niche that complement this one? Do you have a proven funnel through which you'll cross-sell, up-sell, down-sell?

What goals do you have, long-term, for your business and how does this product fit into those plans.

You see, the idea is not to make a selling decision in a vacuum, but to base it on how everything fits together for a profitable on-going business.

Your research will show you the way.

    I'd sell it.

I'd give away a "light" version of it, covering the basic principle, in order to build an email list of interested subscribers.

Then I'd sell those guys a more detailed version that showed them how to do it.

I'd then follow with an upsell for a 'done for you' option.

And I'd also give them an opportunity to hire you as a consultant.

Finally, if lots of people were buying, I'd run a big ticket event where customers might learn some cool stuff and network with each other.

While the price increases significantly at every stage of the funnel.

You better give them a free trial for a certain time. For example 14 days or 1 month, after that you can charge them with the price you want. With this method you can get both. List building and sales

My question is, How do you know you have a no-brainer product? Have you done actual market research? I would run landers/opt-ins to collect emails and build your list and in return for the email you send them a simple PDF that is an enticement of your bigger product. Also set up a facebook page and other social media. Get people involved with what you're doing and run surveys asking what current problems they experience. Build a relationship and ask your market.

Other thought is to sell it and then create new courses related to that niche. Down the road offer this current course as a bonus. Or break is down into sections and offer it as PDFs.
