You dont need thousands of visitors to your website to make money

Hey guys,
Ive just launched a website that is selling a $67 product, making 2 sales a day with just 50 visitors a day on average. Some days LESS! All organic free traffic (Thanks Johno aka "zues66)

I thought I would share this with the newbies here who have the mentality that I know I had when I started out in internet marketing.

And that mentality was "I desperately need more traffic, to make more sales and to make more money..!!"

That mindset hurt me badly. Infact I was so obsessed with "visitor clicks" and getting "traffic" using Adwords that I lost over $15,000 in under 8 months.

I forgot about actually providing people with something useful and focused on TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC and making that silly 1% conversion rate!

Dont let this mindset become a hinderance in your efforts.

I know its a cliche and its been said countless times before but HIGHLY TARGETED TRAFFIC is everything!!

Forget boasting about "I get 120,000 visitors a month" This means nothing!

Focus on "wow this product will really benefit some people, I hope to make at least one sale a week, or every few days" Ill be happy with that

Best of luck!

Yep. Targeted traffic determines the success of any sites selling stuff.

Yep. Highly targeted traffic and constantly testing and improving your conversions will do it every time.

    Thanks guys.

Today Ive had one sale so far out of 22 visits. I must admit though that what I am selling isnt available on every second website you visit, so rarity plays a big part in this.

Yeah, I totally agree. I've had a silly little site that was only pulling 80-100 visits a day from Google, with no other source of traffic, running for the last 2-3 years and I've averaged $2400 a month from it for at least the last 2 years.

I just redeveloped it actually (SmokePoker.com) and it's now got much more content, much more traffic, but the income from this month is down on what it did before. Go figure. It was only a two-page salesletter site before and it's now a reasonable sized portal with a ton of original content.

I think in the long run what I've done will be better though. I only changed it this month, so I'm not concerned about it yet.

You're absolutely right about traffic. You just need the right people to be hitting the right offer at the right time.

Its very true about the traffic if it is extremely targeted the figures will speak for themselves. I have targeted squeezepages that convert at 80% yet the ones that are less targeted convert at 40% so it all depends on the traffic that you have created.

    Kind regards

@Gennie32 - I pretty much summed it up there... "You just need the right people to be hitting the right offer at the right time." If your search traffic is searching for a particular product/service chances are that they're hot to buy there and then. Target product names and if you get the SE traffic you're good to go. Simple enough, but it works.

There's nothing wrong with more than 50 visitors a day.
Think if you had 1000 visitors a day and 2% CR!

I was just wondering how can I get traffic to my websites And to my blog I have tried article marketing; I have about 10 articles on the net with a few article websites. I was just wondering if I had missed something or have I made a mistake somewhere. Just I know that with out targeted traffic no website can make any money at all and that's why am asking the experts like your selfs.
    Any help would be grateful.
