This was working fine earlier today, but for some reason now, I can't insert a word document link into a wordpress page. I click on the icon to "add media" and select my Word (or Excel) file from my local drive (tried both flash and browser upload). It uploads and I click "insert into post", at which point it adds the document name to my post in what appears to be plain text. If I go to the media library, the file is there. If I view it, I'm prompted to download the file, so it appears to have uploaded just fine. But for some reason, the file won't appear as a link in the post. It just shows the file name as plain text. Inserting other media (pictures) seems to be fine. I didn't try inserting video or audio. Any ideas? Thanks, -Rob |

Figured out that if I highlight the "plain text" and then create a link to the url from the media library location, it'll link just fine. I just don't know why the link isn't being created automatically when I upload the file. The only thing I can think of doing between when it worked earlier and now was that I installed Gears. Wonder if that screwed something up. It's probably me doing something wrong though. |
