Drive Traffic To YouTube Or Your Blog

Hello,

I have recently created accounts in Pinterest and Twitter. I have videos on YouTube and the embed links of these videos on individual posts on my blog. I also have a link to my blog in the description of the videos.

My question is, what is a better long term strategy? To drive this traffic to the YouTube videos from which they can click on the link in the description and go to my blog

OR

Drive this traffic to my blog and have them watch the YouTube video there. They can then use the YouTube icon on this embedded video to subscribe and like...

What are the pros and cons and the best strategy in the long term?

Thanks

I'd only ever drive traffic to an offer. Is it an offer you're driving them to?

I love this quote. So aggressive! Just curious, what's the average price of the offer you're directing them to?

Drive them to your blog and try and get them to sign up to your email list.

This means if anything happens to your YouTube account you still have contact with people.

You can then ask them to subscribe on your thank you page.

    Why not do both?

Vary your links and posts to point to both web properties.

However, If I was going to choose just one I would send traffic to my blog or squeeze page.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

Youtube is good enough to drive traffic on its own. Just make good videos and they'll get shared on your own. Maybe a Facebook page to support would be good.

    Both work.

Example; I embed YT videos on my blog. But then link to my blog through my YouTube videos. Maximize your traffic. Drive traffic to both spots.

But I am big on making my blog content central, or my prime focus. I own my blog. I do not own YT

It all depends on your intentions.

But if you are trying to build authority and your brand as well as an email list, then take them directly to your blog.

    BUILD YOUR LIST !

Drive traffic to the Blog, which also improve the ranking or youtube video embedded and build your list with a pop up opt in box.

    WHY?

Cause your youtube channel can be shot down. You are not in google's mind. It happened to a lot of people.

But if you have a LIST it's yours!

True, but in case Google shuts you down, it implies that you were doing something very unethical, such as plagiarism, stealing somebody else's content, or other illegal things such as gaming the platform, trying to drive traffic straight to your opt-in page with short, click-bait videos that add no value and erodes user experience etc.

Corporations as big as Google doesn't eliminate you for no good reason(s).

So basically here is a pretty easy formula. Say you're talking about reasons to remove acne acne. while talking about acne you could say, for example, "in the link below I have a detailed review of the cheapest acne treatment that works." Then continue along with the video. It's good to interject an unanswered question because humans are naturally curious. Don't make it sound like a blatant advertisement either, because the best type of marketing is advertising that gets the audience naturally engaged.

The more YouTube you do, the better you read what interests your market and the better you get at ranking your YT videos you will gain traffic directly from YouTube. That said, I embed nearly all of my videos to my blog or one of my web properties to gain traffic and provide content to my website visitors. Sometimes these are designed as part of a content/sales funnel campaign while other times they are designed for enagement/research and still other times they fulfill some of the content I provide through private membership site.

I would say, YouTube videos are good enough as long as you use the right keywords in your tags and have them ranked. You will in turn get traffic for your blog. Also look at how you can get your blog ranked by using relevant keywords.

I would direct all traffic to your blog, use YouTube as a traffic source but make your blog the money maker

    Test it...see which works best....

For the reason touched on by some of these guys

Dont make these platforms like twitter, facebook, youtube etc your "bread and butter"

They have erratic policies that change suddenly and can even ban you at there own discretion...no business needs that kind of uncertainty

Have your own "real estate" so to speak

With an impressive three billion daily views, this video-sharing platform stakes its claim as the world's second-largest search engine (behind Google) and is considered the third most-visited website in the world. Think YouTube is only for Justin Bieber fans? Think again.

As a marketer, there's an absolutely incredible potential with YouTube if you deploy the right strategy. Imagine each of your videos as "mini websites."

First, your content can get found from within YouTube itself.

Your videos on YouTube will pick up traffic providing you are offering value, you have a trusted channel and have optimized your videos well enough. In the video description you can link back to your blog. Also in the video itself you can mention the url of your blog. Embed those videos onto your blog and onto a Facebook fan page.
