Squeeze Page/ Experienced Markters: Opt IN Page Video Question- Appear or Not?

Ok, so I am getting a squeeze page made tomorrow, but I am going to be putting in a video in it, which will basically say something like "this is the most important video bla bla " saying something to try and make them opt in.

However, I have a few questions about this, and would welcome any suggestion from experienced marketers:

1.Which do you think is better, appearing in the video, or not? and why, and also how to appear in the video?

2. What kinds of things can be said in the video, to persuade people to want to opt in?

3. The video is going to be pretty short, but generally what is a length for the video that has worked well for you?

4. What other kinds of tips can you offer about this video? Such as in how to place it on the page, where etc...?

also, does anyone have any examples of successfully converting squeeze pages, which contain a video for the relationship niche? ...
Thanks!

if you can present yourself well (authority) and achieve decent production quality, then appearing in the video places your sales page leaps and bounds above your competitors

I liked how Tony Robbins did it for the launch of his product where he interviews Frank Kern:

      • Shows himself talking about Internet millionaires.
      • Video is on the left, and there is an "add to cart" button on the right. Simple and to the point. Don't complicate your life. Video and Send (or Buy ) button.
      • Talk about something enticing. Don't give away too much info. Something like "if you want to know how to make $1,000 in 2 days, you will find the info. inside. Just give me your name and email address, etc, etc." This is a cheesy example, but you get the point: show them that once they sign up, they will get special information.
      • Keep the video short. Maybe under 4 minutes? Remember that this is not a content video, but rather a video to persuade them to sign up. Get to the point fast and appeal to the emotions rather than to the rational part of the brain.
From your picture, I can see that you are a woman, so have you looked at Katie Freiling on YouTube?

She is really good at making persuasive videos....but I think her persuasiveness stems more from the fact that she is beautiful!

Also, instead of a video, you could try doing what Frank Kern does: put a picture of a video, and when they click on the picture, they are told to sign up.

      Wish you the best

    Hi Acrasial,

My new video squeez page (Newbie Traps) is converting exceptionally well. It's not in the relationship niche, but you still may get a few ideas from it.

I really didn't want to be in the video so I found another way to do it. I do appear in it for a few seconds, but I don't say anything.

Here is what a warrior said about it yesterday...

"All I can say to you is... I love your video you have on your optin page... If your videos I am about to download & view are as riveting and hard hitting as that one then I am in for something special when I receive them in my inbox..."

wow, thanks guys for the ideas- But how did you get a video like that made, John?

Did you create it yourself, or you hired someone? Sure does look fantastic.

My name is not John, but I can probably guess.

The bulk of this video is with photos that are most likely stock footage. An audio was created and video software is used - possibly something along the lines of final cut pro, but you can do a lot of the same stuff with camtasia or screenflow. You create the audio file with the person talking, lay it on the track, add your photo images and give them some movement while dividing them with built in special effects, add some music into the background and voila! Should only take a few minutes

      Hey Acrasial!

I did a webinar with Ole Frank Kern that was pretty focused on making short videos to capture an opt-in.

Now, Mods - It's on my blog. I know that there's some issues with posting links to professional sites, but rest assured, there is almost NOTHING professional about my site.

Anyway, if the mods don't kill this post, you can download the webinar - there's no opt-in, and nothing for sale or anything like that. In fact, the show is called "Random Acts of Coolness".

There's a case study as part of the webinar as well, and the site in the demo is still live, so you can just absorb what you like and what you think might work for yours.

      The download is at andyjenkinsblog.com/randomactsdownload

      Good luck!
