Wordpress 2.8

I've just picked up WP again after some time and installed the latest for a client.

WP2.8 seems a little broken? Anyone else have some experience of not being able to install plugins?

Even the WP forums don't seem to have a fix

Anyone?

I'd recommend reinstalling WP

reinstalling helped me a lot with errors on WP

Hmmm Thats alright if its not a live and active site.

It's not just a problem with my site. Theres a lot of comment about it.

Anyone?

I must say I've had no problems - I'm assuming you're on WP 2.8.4, rather than 2.8.

What theme are you using? It may be worth activating the default WordPress theme to see if the problem persists.

There were some plugin and theme issues when 2.8 came out but as Martin says, if you are not on 2.8.4 you need to be as I believe most of those problems were fixed with that release.

Not sure what your exact problem is, but like martin says, it might be the theme. It might also be other plugins causing the problem.
