Default Introduction from new UK member

Hi - I joined a few weeks ago and have been lurking and absorbing everything (well some of it!) since, so thought it was a good point to say hello to everyone and thanks for the information so far.

I'm not an Internet Marketer but am a photographer from the UK specialising in weddings and portraits, I've a background in computing science, although that was in the 80's and 90's and want to use SEO to promote my business.

I've been paying out quite a bit with Google adwords but its getting increasingly more competitive and hence more expensive. I started very early on with adwords so it initially cost pence per add. But enough is enough so rather than pay an external company to do stuff for me, which would cost a lot and they would most probably only focus on a few areas, I thought I'd do it myself!

I bought a few books on SEO and understand most of the stuff, so I'm now I'm on a mission to revamp by site by adding a lot more text content, most photographers concentrate on images only and often in snazzy Flash apps so I have an advantage there.

My work is fairly geographic in nature, I'd love to book a wedding in the Caribbean all travelling expenses paid but I think that s highly unlikely. Some of the info and advice here isn't that relevant, so I'm especially keen on how to target based geographically.

I'm visual by nature, hence my profession, so may well outsource some of it. But most of the keyword research and content ideas I'll do.

Then its backlinks time!! along with article submission. I'm toying up the pros and costs of things like linkvana, neurolink, seobookmarks101, etc

Plus looking into the article writing and submission but am struggling on where it would help and how to do it. But will no doubt outsource this as I also need to concentrate on doing my profession and keeping the business running.

Anyway enough of a ramble!

Look forward to getting more advice and info from you guys.

Hey Shaun,

Welcome to the Warrior Forum. That's certainly a well thought out 1st post.

You are probably on the right lines with the outsourcing that you mention. You are doing the right things but your time is better spent on the practical side of your business so get people who know what they are doing to write and submit your articles, build your backlinks etc.

So best of luck in your activities.

Andy
