IM = Insanity Marketing??

What is the definiation of 'Insanity'?

Well, according to Mr. Einstein...

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Albert Einstein, (attributed)
US (German-born) physicist (1879 - 1955)

This is just a quick rant about certain Insanity (Internet) Marketers' chosen tactics of doing business.

Last chance to get this AMAZING OFFER!
(the following comments are not meant to be taken personally or directed at any specific individual) umm... what makes you think I want it 'now' when I didn't before?? OR are you seriously wanting to bang me over the head that I can't afford your offer, right now?? Gee, thanks for that!

This scarcity thing has seemed to have really gotten outta hand, lately. C'mon guys, (and gals), change the sheets?

Where I come from; (the music industry); creativity is the backbone to success. Why does it seem that, in the IM world, repetition and regurgitation is the way things are done? Often. ok, ok ALL the time!!

Anyway.. ::end rant::

    Very true.

    All these scary things has become cliche and nobody get impressed by them. In the ultimate analysis it is plain common sense that decides the buying decision of most people. If I want something, I'll buy it eventually. The overuse of words like 'Last Chance..' only adds to the confusion among buyers. I think it is high time people started practicing caution while using them.

    I agree but I think that you may be looking at things through the eyes of a marketer and not through the eyes of a consumer. Scarcity works. It prompts a call to action (I better get this before...the price go up...it is gone...ect.)That is the bottom line and I doubt that many other marketers will disagree.

    Now whether it is overused or not, that is another subject altogether...

    As the saying goes “if it aint broke don’t fix it.” Also, there are many impulsive people out there that will buy anything if they believe it’s an “amazing” deal.

    This would only be insanity if the methods didn't work.

    Most of us are not in the music industry, so how is that relevant?

    The important thing is, how do they do things in the medical profession?

    Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
    Ummm... This doesn't fit with the title of the thread. They're doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same results.

      I also like how some digital products are nearly "sold out". LMAO.
