Maybe you should get a job

Some folks just aren't cut out to be building a business online.

Here's why...

1 - They believe in getting something from nothing.

Meaning they don't want to offer anything of value to anyone - all they think about is themselves...

They don't give a damn about those in the community they wish to serve all they want is their hard earned money (sounds a lot like the people I talked about yesterday)

2 - The attitude man oh man the attitude

They can't take criticism or feedback from anyone now a days.

Whats worse is that the brainless wanna-be marketers ask for it and when they get answers they don't like they want to fight.

Hurry get your alphabet guns ready to type the meanest and harshest response ever.

3 - They want long term results while working short term

Everybody wants to make a sale quickly for some reason.

It screams desperation.

More so it screams neediness.

Which means you lose all power of what happens in your business because you will do things like drop your price just to make a sale or worse - do something for a week and call it quits.

If you have a solution to a problem that I am facing and you charge me a buck for it - I'm running to your competitor who charges 10x more because he takes is seriously enough to charge what its worth.

If you fit any of the three it might be time for you to hang up your fresh and polished marketing boots and get a jobbie job.

Let those of us who wear our beaten to death marketing boots and uniforms out into combat and fight the war that you weren't cut out for.

    I've always found it very ironic . . . but totally true . . .

Anyone can create and run a profitable online business . . . but very, very few people will ever do it even though the desire is there.

The "reasons why" are so many and so varied, it's not worth the effort to try to count them or describe them.

Let me just repeat what I've said over and over again . . .

    You are the business!

    The very best to all,

Very true! My first year I spent 16-20 hours a day, every day, to build a foundation for my business. Most of that time was spent doing boring stuff like writing articles, blog posts, researching niches, building niche sites, building backlinks, etc

I envy the work ethnic I had then - now that I have a "cushion" I don't work nearly as hard. In those days, there was no other option, IM had to work for me, lol.

When I coach people I often tell them that story up front and ask them if that's something they are willing to do. I ask if they are willing to sacrifice a year of their life to build a business that could possibly sustain them for a lifetime. Once you have all your systems in place and you can start increasing your income streams you get to work less and less on the boring stuff.

    Cheers,
    Coby

I'm not going to omit those words - but I will clarify it for you since you seem to have a hard time understanding what I'm saying...

There are 24 hours in a day, 365 days in a year...

I worked 16-20 hours a day... EVERY DAY of that year... so omitting the words "every day" wouldn't make a lot of sense...

Maybe concentrate more on the ideas being shared and less about the possible grammatical errors - this isn't a grammar forum.

P.S. Since you want to be a grammar cop... Every day is technically two words so your post should have read... "Can you omit the words 'every day' from your post? Please!" You also forgot the question mark!

Hi Coby, I respect your work ethic, but is that humanely possible 16-20 hours of solid work 365 consecutive days without any break? I don't think its very feasible unless you take significant amounts of rest in between. Human brain can't work that long.

I, myself, haven't taken any day off for the last four years or so, and I work as much as 10-12 hours everyday, tried more than that without any luck.

You don't think it's possible to work with only 4-8 hours of sleep a day? That's really not even that hard! Maybe I'm just more dedicated than you?

Isaiah met me during those days - he knows it's the truth. I'm sorry if you aren't able to work that hard - but we don't all fit in the same box as you do...

Did you go to College? If so I'm sure you had lots of 16+ hour days then too - I know I did!

Questioning my work ethic doesn't really help other folks...

The idea of this forum is to add value to the conversation - I think you probably should have sat this one out... I have a perfect reputation both in this forum and in the IM world as a whole - and I have for over 7 years! Feel free to Google "Coby Wright Scam" and see for yourself... Search the WSO forum after that... My record speaks for itself.

Do I need to send you my alma mater info?

You lie in English so I tried to correct you. You think everyone in this forum a fool? I even doubt if you even make a living out of IM after reading your post. Sorry, if I busted your bubble.

So many problems with this reply. I will try to handle them one by one...

                1.) Many grammatical errors.

2.) I asked about your alma mater, not to question your education, but to give you an example of how working 16+ hours a day isn't a big deal. Since you are saying you did go to College, I'm sure you spent many "all nighters" preparing for exams, like I did and everyone I know did, when in College.

3.) I don't think anyone in this forum is a fool nor have I implied so. In actuality, that's what you are doing. You just picked the wrong person this time.

4.) I don't have to prove myself or my income to you. Feel free to search the WSO section of this very forum. There are literally pages of testimonials from my customers. Go ahead, go look. While your at it, check Google, Twitter and YouTube... You could also just peek over to the left and look at how many times I've been "thanked" for helpful posts... Over 1,300 - of course "thanks" don't equate to income but it's a decent way to prove I know a thing or two about marketing...

5.) You obviously don't know me. So saying I'm lying is a bit inappropriate and again I have a perfect reputation for being an honest marketer. I'm sorry if you aren't able to achieve the same things I am. That doesn't make them untrue.

6.) You've now made 3 posts on this thread and provided exactly ZERO value.

I agree to many new marketers want to start making money over night without doing the work

if you cant put the work in you won't make money this hasn't changed in over a decade!

Nicely put! Everyone's different. A circle can't fit into a square mold nor a square fit inside a circle. There are callings that some people are NOT cut out to do while others are so very good at it and there are also others who keep on forcing themselves into doing something that they end up struggling and falling rather than going with the flow and enjoying the ride.

Thing is, a lot of people ARE needy and desperate. And there is no shortage of people willing to prey on that.

When you see someone write about losing their home, or having their car repossessed, while throwing around terms like "wage slave", you know you've found some of the delusional ones that won't make it.

Sorry to be detractor here but This sounds like a bunch of people trying to make themselves feel special. It's not for everybody therefore you must be supertalented. Nobody should just giveup, and everybody learns at a different pace. So I encourage everyone to pursue this biz no matter how long it takes to become good at it. thats just my opinion.

      Maybe.

But this thread does have a point.

A very raw and up front point.

However, I believe that everything OP said is true (but only on the surface).

      What do I mean?

Success online is a form of FREEDOM. If you succeed, you can have the POWER and Freedom to live how you see fit.

      But the problem?

The average human mind can not handle freedom.

      Don't believe me?

97% of the people pursuing this IM industry won't believe me.

What does all this mumbo jumbo that I just said have to do with people who fail online?

Because most people fail due to 'self sabotage'.

And this stems from a deeper problem.

Now why would someone consciously sabotage their OWN Success?

      They don't really.

      They 'unconsciously' do this.

Their are many different reasons why this is like this.

Freedom online is a form of power. But with great power comes 'great' responsibility.

Not the kind of responsibility of how to manage and spend a lot of money...but more in terms of "Taking Responsibility" for where you are right now.

      In life and in business.

This is just the start (in turning things around for yourself if you aren't getting anywhere in a hurry).

Most people won't even do this step.

Most people are warriors (no pun intended) and are too 'stubborn' to change.

Here is a video scene in Spiderman where Uncle Ben tells Peter that..."With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility":

    I don't agree and I don't think that is a realistic approach.

Not everyone can do a particular job - and IM is no different. People who expect payoffs for "showing up" are not going to succeed online no matter how long they keep 'trying'. Wanting money and success or needing money and success means nothing - it's what you accomplish that counts.

Better to tell people the truth rather than encourage them to stay in the category of 'internet dreamer' ...buying shiny objects, going broke, and getting nowhere. Several of the 'bunch of people' in this thread are successful online - and they know what effort is required.

As a general rule, those who respond with "you can do it - just don't give up" are following that mantra themselves. Some people need encouragement - some need a reality check.

And who exactly tells them when the reality check is needed. Fact is you can Have a job and do this at the same time. I think what you mean is most people won't get rich doing this a point I agree with. people with the attitude of I need a certain level of success and set a deadline often fail before they even start. As for your comment people about here knowing what is required, I am sure there is some that are very knowledgeable and successful but they started somewhere. Everyone has a different learning curve what took you 2 months to master could take someone else 6 months. the decision to quit or continue your efforts is completely up to the individual doing so.
