I can't believe this! And what do you link to?

Hey guys,

I CAN'T BELIEVE how effective article marketing is! In less than a day I have 9 subscribers. I know in reality that isn't a lot, and I'm not expecting to get 9 subscribers a day or anything, I just wanted to share the realization I had about how effective article marketing is, or can be.

I also had a quick question. When you guys are writing articles and submitting them, where do you link the readers to? Your 'Sales' page or your 'Opt-in' page?

Thanks guys!

I would drive the traffic to an opt-in page because if you drive the visitor to the sales page and they dont buy you've lost the visitor.

But if you drive the visitor to an opt-in page, the subscribers can be marketed to again and again...untill one day they buy.

That's a start... believe it or not most people don't even
    get that far.

    Now keep going...

Send the traffic to your squeeze page and then to your
product page because, as stated above, most people
    will not purchase right away.

Our company does article marketing, and it has worked out VERY well for us. I'm glad to hear it is working for you.

Malachi is right. You will want to direct them to your opt-in page so you don't lose them. But it is a good idea to "entice" them to opt-in so you get a higher opt-in rate.

I so agree that im right...only joking

Offering something away for free in exchange for the visitors details works really well and builds up credibility in your niche.

Start offering your list all kinds of free stuff. Wait until you send your 5th or 6th email, and then promote a product or service for the user to purchase. You want to build up your relationship with your list first, and then your readers will begin to trust you and gain confidence in you as an "expert" in your niche. At this point, you can start promoting your products and services to them.

Article marketing is great and one MUST NOT rule it out when it comes to having targetted traffic but there are other cheaper ways of driving traffic to your site. These includes the use of twitter and blogs.
Driving trafics to the opt-in page is a good idea which if it doesnt give reward today will definitely pay back one day.

What Mike Hill said. IN fact, send them from your articles to your opt-in squeeze page. Then, instead of using the standard "thank you" page services like Aweber use by default, replace that with an OTO (One Time Offer) page that lists your products at a one-time only discounted price. Don't waste that thank you space! Make sales from people right as they're opting in! A lot of Warriors will tell you that works like gangbusters.

That's actually a great start. All you have to do is drive more traffic by writing similar related articles, and soon you'll have even greater results in terms of opt-ins.
