I'm just curious how many marketers are currently offering Press Release marketing services to local businesses to get them more exposure online. If you are doing it, how have you found the results vs regular article marketing / distribution promotions? Are the businesses happy with the results? ~Dexx |

Depends on the release. Too often we write about a change in the paint color or something else irrelevant. If they let us help them find a really controversial angle then it can blow up. Satisfaction comes from results so the more you put into the content the better the distribution will be naturally. |

Yes I have used press releases successfully to promote businesses, the only one that I have permission to discuss is one that I talked with Maria Gudelis on one of her success calls. The basic details is that I took a business that was a very bad niche in my opinion and created a press release that not only created attention for the website, it also got calls to the business directly to the business. Press releases are a powerful tool but many only see it as a link building tool and leave the real money on the table. By not creating a release that builds interest and informs the reader the advantages that my client offers the consumers you are missing out. Mark Riddle |

So you both write the Press Releases for them? Or is there a way to outsource it? Seems like writing the PRs for them would then start to bottle-neck your time abilities, no? As such, anyone willing to give example price ranges they would charge for a such a service? I'm considering charging $2,997 to blast a Press Release out to all the services using the paid Press Release distribution services...hrmmm |

Most clients actually don't have specific expectations for what might happen after a press release is sent out. Such clients are far easier to please than those who expect an explosion of results from a single press release distribution. Marcia Yudkin | |

I wrote one PR for my doggie daycare owner and submitted it to local newspapers. She got two interviews from it and was thrilled. It also put her on page 1 of Google for one specific keyword, which she was very happy with (and was an unexpected bonus to me).
