I charge $7.50 per unique article. Thats a bit lower than standard, a lot of time you can find $3 or $4 articles but they are outsourced to third world countries that hardly know any english.

Your question is irrelevant. How much is an article worth if I get it front paged on Digg? How much is an article worth if it gets you 2,400 backlinks and 2,000 subscribers? How much is an article worth if it gets you interviewed on national TV? How much is an article worth if it's horribly written and no one reads it? That's like asking how much is a car worth... Is it a 2009 BMW or a 1976 Pinto with a blown engine, a rusted floor board and needs a new transmission? This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but most webmasters have no clue as to what an article is really worth. The real question is what do you want it to accomplish for you? I'm unbiased by the way, I don't write articles, at least not freelance. -Scott |

| That is kind of like asking what a home cost. It depends on what kind of foundation, trimmings, how many rooms, etc..

As stated by jitterbug, you really dont want to outsource this to a third world country. These guys really dont know proper english and will have grammar errors. As to the cost, what are you going to do with the article. You can find great article writers on elance. Or just go with jitterbug. Is rate is not bad. But, at the same time you want to see examples and be able to read how he/she does. At the same time maybe get a few references. Never just take the writers word for how good they are. But, for a good article expect to pay between 7 - 10 for 500 words - this is a minimum |

$1 and up, but as others have pointed out, it depends what you're expecting in return for your money. A person wanting to submit hundreds of articles to directories won't want to be paying hundreds of dollars for each article, but a large corporation on the other hand wants quality over quantity, and as such, they are willing to pay for it. Bottom line - it all depends on your needs.

It varies from person to person whoever is writing your article. During lean periods they charge less, more demand equates asking for more money. Established professional copywriter charges more for the same piece. What you are willing to give is the default worth it makes or means to you. If it is just article submission, then anybody can do for far cheaper rates than those prevailing in the US.

| A very well written article can set you back by between USD 10-20. However, I believe you can find re-writters who can do it for 3-4 USD. The key thing is volume and negotiation.

You can get articles as cheap as $1 per article on Getafreelancer.com. You need quality content for good reputation and sales, so you can purchase articles at the rate of $10 or more per article. |

Do yourself a favor mate and don't buy cheap articles. Make sure the writer is a native English speaker and ask for a sample first. Why not write it yourself? Nobody knows your website and it's content and objectives better then you do.

Prices can vary quite a bit. I've seen as high as $15/article and others that are $2-3/article. Just make sure you get good value and quality for your money.

I pay $.011/word for quality unique articles written by English only people. I've used several other services and always got crap back. If you're interested PM I'll send you their contact info. I have no affiliation with them.

Ask Sauce from Bad Boys of Comedy: Still if you want better articles you need to pay a little more. You will find a lot of article writers at "Warriors for Hire" Hope you liked this video. I always think of this one when I see or think of a certain dollar amount. |

$15 for a 500 word article is laughable, at least for a good experienced writer. Show me any successful website... ANY website, let's take IGN.com, Copyblogger.com, ProBlogger.com, Cracked.com... Any site currently on the front page of Digg... Almost any site that's even remotely successful. I guarantee they didn't get there by buying $3 or even $15 articles. They either write themselves or hire writers and pay them a freakin' living wage. No offense to the writers who may just be starting out or whatever, you gotta do what you gotta do... But as far as content goes, or design, or product creation or sales copy or traffic or ANYTHING... If you spend nickles and dimes you'll more than likely make nickels and dimes. It's funny how many people are willing to throw their business under the bus to save $100 here or there. No offense to anyone, and I'm sure someone will chime in with "I've got a great writer who writes top notch stuff for $5 an article"... I'd love to see that article. Peace, -Scott | |

You make a very good point here, Scott. People see stories of "how much internet marketers are earning" and they see stories of "people buying articles for $2 or $3" and can easily overlook the fact that these two groups of stories normally contain no people in common at all! |

I wish it were true, that cheap articles only brought you nickels and dimes. If that were the case, then there'd be a lot less crappy articles out there. However many people do not use article writing to gain readers for their articles. They use articles to gain back-links to their main pages. And it doesn't take a quality article, it only takes an article with the right amount of linked keywords to get the search engines to raise your main page for these same keywords. Eventually Google, and the rest of the major search engines will have a quality algorithm that works. But until they do, we'll always have a plethora of bad articles to choose from. |
