Default Help with optimizing my page for a keyword pls !!

hi Guys,
Can i ask you a question on how to optimize a page of my blog/site for a keyword.

I have a adsense site on `tattoo laser removal`

The whole site i have tried to optimize for the keywords `tattoo laser removal` the keywords are in the title, H1 , Body of the post, ect ect..

But it is proving a very difficult keyword to get ranked for so i would like to rank for a keyword with much lower competition just for example `Tattoo fade`

So what i would like to ask you so i can make this clear of myself is... If i went about writing articles and used the keywords `tattoo fade` as the clickable link to my home page `tattoo laser removal` in my bio box, and went on a mission forum posting, social bookmarking, all using `tattoo fade` as the clickable text back to my home page.

Would i get to the point where when somebody typed `tattoo fade` into google my site would hopefully if i did a good job show on the first page ??

I hope you guys understand what i`m trying to ask so just for a crazy example hows this ....

If i had a site completely on `yellow bannanas` i was ranked number 1 on google for `yellow bannanas` but i then went about article writing, forum posting, bookmarking all using `green apples` as the clickable text back to the homepage of my `yellow bannanas` site, would my `yellow bannanas` site eventully rank for the keywords `green apples` even though it has absolutly nothing to do with or contain any referance to `green apples`

Phew i hope you guys understand this i think i`ve made something very simple sound so difficult and i`m already guessing the answer is yes but pls help me clear this up.

Cheers Jim

Well i'm not an expert but I think if you want to use `tattoo fade` as your anchor text
you'll need to optimize your site for that keyword for it to rank for that keyword.

What you seem to be saying is that you'll use "tattoo fade" as your anchor text, correct?

It is good SEO sense to use your target keyword as your anchor text in most if not all your backlinks. I said in most because there are some strain of thoughts that say you should try to vary the anchor text in some so that the SE will also index it but it will see what the main keyword is.

You seem to have optimized your page for your keyword. And its just a matter of creating backlinks, etc to get your page ranked by the SEs.

About your question on the yellow bannanas. I'm not expert but I would think that the SEs would have a rough time figuring out on what keyword they would rank the page. You may have placed green apples as your anchor text but remmeber that they'll follow that link back to your page and when they don't see any keyword of green apples, there's no telling how they rank that page.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replys,
So i would have a hard time with `yellow bannanas` and `green apples` but i would be ok with `tattoo fade` because there is a connection with `tattoo laser removal` right ??
