Hi Bev,

I think this is along the lines of what you might be looking for. I've used this one and liked it and it's very reasonably priced. Their customer service was also very good the last time I contacted them about a year ago. Lots of plugins too.

Hi Bev, how the hell are ya?

I use phpLD (php Link Directory) on a couple of sites. If you know html, it is very easy to configure and integrate into your site's look and feel. And if you are starting from scratch, there are hundreds fo killer templates.

HTML now you are talking my language. I did a course in it so I would understand what it is all about.

Do you have a link to a site (PM if you like) that I can take a quick butchers of and see the sort of layout and whether it would work.

There are some good ways to create directories w/ WordPress, too.

Here's one little tutorial on how to get the job done: WPDesigner.com How to Use Wordpress as a Membership Directory

This is what the author of that post built: Pittsburgh Designers Local Pittsburgh Web Designers, Developers and Graphic Artists

Here's another plugin that promises to make directory creation easy: WordPress › Business Directory WordPress Plugins

Here's another (premium) plugin that looks like it has potential: WPDirectory Pro Official Site - Premium WordPress directory plugin - Create a directory with links, categories, SEO, free and paid listings

I don't know if any of these would do what you need but they might be decent options for someone who's handy with/enjoys WP.

You could also check out the major CMS systems like Drupal (my favorite) or Joomla. They would have modules to do whatever you want, they are mainstream so you could get support from any of thousands of people, and there is plenty of documentation out there to help you customize for your needs.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We have an idea what we want to do, so many of these solutions are answering part of it, but that is fine, because we know what the end product should look like.

Being able to see some of these ideas, makes it easier to say, I like this part off x and that part off y etc.

Almost there with what is needed so any more suggestions will be appreciated.
