Hi, Can anyone recommend a good free WP theme. I would actually pay for one as well, but first I want to explore the Free options. I'm look for one that has all of the built-in bells and whistles, like SEO optimized pages, bread crumb navigation, drop down menues etc, multi-media capabilities. Also do any of the themes, Free or Paid, have a feature that allows you to easily insert a Flash Header? Again, paid Themes is an option as well. I've looked at Woo and some others and wasn't really impressed. Thanks in advance. James |

I love the flexx themes. Easy to use and of course flexible in the layout.

Hi I agree flexsqueeze is the best I have it installed in my blog and I love it I would never use anything else now. and theres a link at the bottom of it if you wish to have a look http://www.graemeashe.com For other free wordpress themes. When your in the wordpress Dashboard go down to the Appearance tab and click add new themes under that. Once you have done that you can filter what type of themes you want by color, columns, subject etc and then prees the find themes button. Hope this helps Graeme |

Actually I'm looking for a business theme. I want to build a site with a flash header at the top, along with the features that I listed on the OP. Thanks for all of the suggestions thus far. I'm going through them now. | |

You're asking a lot of a free theme, not saying you can't find it but... here are a couple of commercial options... no affiliate codes or strings attached... Press75.com|Professional WordPress Themes by Jason Schuller StudioPress Premium WordPress Themes all are high quality professional solutions at reasonable prices. be careful with free themes... a lot of them are free for a reason and it's not for your benefit. |

Check out eblogtemplates.com for an awesome selection of free WP themes. They have free themes there would normally cost $100 or more |

I'm also a fan of Atahualpa - I use it for most of my sites. Totally flexible and I think (??) the latest version does allow for flash headers.

Waste of time. Just find the theme that works for your business... spend a few bucks on a mutli site license and get to work. I have looked at 1.000's of themes. I have yet to see a "free" theme that has a decent backend to make your workflow simple. There is absolutely no incentive for a designer to make a high end theme and give it away. They give away for links in footers and to upsale to their premium products. If you are serious about your site just find the best tool and move on. Themes are very cheap. And simple support from the designer can be incredibly valuable when modifying your themes for a specific purpose. If you can find a free theme fine, but I sure wouldn't waste time looking for one. I'd look for the best theme for my purpose. |

You can take a look at very cheap wordpress themes from sites like themeforest.com and woothemes.com. Or you can look for some themes in the torrents.

| Quote: That is a fantastic list of great themes. I'm going to add one to it. I'm a web developer, and I recently made the transition to using the Vigilance theme for most of my projects. It has some of the most well-structured, intuitive mark-up and css I've seen. The free version is awesome, but requires a little code-lovin', (just like most themes) to make it personal. The paid version includes a mountain of options to control the look and feel, of virtually every aspect of the site, directly from a theme options page in the backend of the site. Here's the link: Vigilance | A lean and clean WordPress theme featuring friendly SEO optimized code. |
