Well organic traffic its more targeted because you get people that are interested in what you have to offer besides social media where people just search it maybe from curiosity

Well, social and organic both traffic is important. Because Organic search traffic catches people at the end or near to the end of their purchase cycle. While social traffic helps you to connect with your target audience and build relationships.

it sounds like you didn't use any kind of tracking tool?

all tracking tool can tell you which tier of country the visitor comes from, if they taken the action on your site or not and the most importantly is what's your conversion rate?

higher mean better, then you can use these data to tell which traffic works best for you, then simply scale up!

Organic traffic from search engine is great free traffic, but most of the people aren't loyal followers of your website. If you have fans or followers on social media, those people are your followers because they like what you do and are ultimately regular visitors of your website as long as you keep creating new contents.

Both traffic are good whatever the number is as long as you get genuine traffic. You also need to get referral traffic, this traffic comes from site other than yours.

As Al said targeted traffic is key and that can be both from social and organic.

We did have a girl on here couple of years ago ( with 25K+ posts) who was incessant how organic traffic was ineffective.

    I never bought into that

I guess you're talking about Alexa. Why was she banned by the way? (Always seemed kind of helpful to me.)

Both are good as long as this is targeted traffic to your niche and offer. So which one is converting better for you?

    Your social or organic?

This answer will answer your question.
