CE Marking

Hey Guys,

I am going through the motions of importing an item from China. The item I want to import doesnt have ROHS certification(Or possibly a CE mark, waiting for them to get back to me on that as I just found out about it).

Someone in UK is already selling them on ebay from the same manufacturer. What should I do? If I pay to have everything certified then this guy will benefit from it too (I think). Should I report him first?

I have never had all these certificate thingies done before so I am very new to it, I don't even know how much it will cost, just that I need to have it done.

Anyone who can provide a guiding hand will have my thanks.
