Do you think this is a good idea!?

If there was an "Ultra-cool", extremely informative magazine for IM, what articles or columns would you like to see exposed/discussed? What is everyone missing?

FYI- If you would be interested in writing for this magazine, send me a PM. Yes that's right I am putting together the real-deal... A magazine for the internet marketer! Cool huh? and it'll be viral!

George

P.S. If the post reaches 300 replies I will give WF a free add in each issue for a whole year!

Would you prefer it in print or digital format?

Since most of the "gurus" are already doing this, it obviously is a good idea. IMers are paying a monthly fee to receive these.

Have you seen Brunson's. It's printed as a magazine, with thick, glossy cover stock in full color.

I haven't seen Brunson's but I have seen Filsaime's and Kerns. Which do not look very professional.

      Hey George,

As Don said, most gurus are already doing it....

You would have to ensure that your mag was really good to stand
      out from the crowd....

I'm just about to cancel a subscription to a guru's mag for the
      following reasons:
      - the content is not that good
      - it's too expensive for what you get
      - I can get the same, if not, better advice and help here at
      the forum....

      Regards

      Greg

As stated already that IM Magazines are being offered by the "gurus".

There are positives and negatives from the reader standpoint.

Depending on what level you consider yourself as an Internet marketer, would determine what you're going to get out of the content in the magazines.

It's nice to be able to pick up a magazine for an example before you fall asleep in bed, read by the pool, lay on the couch, or take with you when you plan on having brief waiting periods.

I believe the price for these magazines are a bit high for what you get, unless there's some other, accommodating factors such as a DVD or additional content, membership.

The monthly price is probably due to an offset needed for editing and printing.

Overall I think the IM magazine is a great idea especially if you have the resources for research, editing and printing.

Knowing that the Guru-zines are priced in the clouds, what would feel would be a good price for a well put together monthly digital subscription with great content on all IM subjects from the "gurus"?

What would you be willing to pay and what would you expect to get for it?

          $24/mo?
          $47/mo?
          $67/mo?
          $97/mo?
          $197/mo?

I'd like to see something that covers success stories with unusual products or methods - you know the sort - when someone takes a little known product from Clickbank or whatever and markets it with resounding success. Only thing is I doubt people would share this success with others so it may be difficult to get contributions.

Price range - low cost would be nice, in the $20 range.

Just my tuppence worth - I wish you success with your new magazine.

      This sounds a great idea.

I assume you would be including all the usual SEOand marketing tips, but would you also being doing reviews on the countless opportunities that come along daily? Advising unbiased reviews on which ones to avoid and which ones genuinely work?

This to my mind iswhat every "Newbie" is crying out for! an HONEST mag.

Great responses! I appreciate all the input!

Here's the core I would like to know to effectively make this happen:

#1. The 3 biggest issues that you feel would help improve your business?

#2. What is your preferred delivery method? Digital PDF /or Flipbook or Hard Copy Mag?

#3. What would you be willing to pay monthly for this specialized info?

This is going to happen! But I need your help to make it a success. When we reach 100 replies I tell everyone the release date and where they can get it.

        George

P.S. Once this post reaches 300 replies, I'll give everyone that posted a free copy and give the WF a free ad in each issue for a year!

#2. What is your preferred delivery method? Digital PDF /or Flipbook or Hard Copy Mag?
Hard copy (printed) is tempting, as it can be read anywhere, without the need of ICT hardware. The downside of hardcopy is that if the magazine is to be a true global product, then the cost of international shipping (not to mention time taken for delivery to different countries/continents) is going to significantly reduce the number of subscribers (in my opinion).

Yes, one can print a copy of a digital download, but to me this does not have the same appeal as a glossy printed magazine.

Perhaps a hybrid magazine is worth considering - one price, to include shipping, of the hardcopy (printed) version within the country of production - separate prices for (printed) hardcopy delivery to other parts of the world - another price for a digital downloadable copy.

Then of course there is the digital on disc option - that might incur less in actual overseas shipping costs compared to a printed magazine, but might need more robust packaging for product protection.

If the project did take off in a big way, then shipping costs for the physical versions could become less of a barrier. Send digital downloads to contacts/partners in countries with large subscription bases and let the contacts/partners arrange the printing and shipping to subscribers within their country or region.

I do appreciate (as already posted) that there are some big players already operating in this arena (with some pretty hefty marketing budgets and established contacts/partners), so notwithstanding my sentiments above, the first task will be to try and properly assess the market for a new competitor and how to differentiate the product.

The above are some of my initial thoughts after reading the thread. It will be interesting to learn of what others think.

          Regards,
          Jeff Henshaw.

I think this is a great idea, but there are already a ton of membership sites out there that almost deliver the same thing. If you will sell it for a small amount and wont require to subscribe then people test it.

I am think a yearly membership at $97 with a viral rebrander for affiliate links. There would also be unlimited access to a number of other professionally produced viral magazines that people could use for list building and re-brandable affiliate offers to their list.

      How does that sound?
