How Do you Write for Your Autoresponder emails?

Hi Everyone.

I just had to ask. I know the money is in the list and people keep telling me to get a list for every product I sell. What I find difficult is how to write the emails for the autoresponder. Where do you get your information? How many emails do you write? For the Opt in Freebie do you provide them with a PLR Product or do you write one yourself.

I know so many questions but I believe this is what I need to move forward a bit more.

Thanks in advance

Pete

Well Pete, I'm not a guru with e-mail marketing, but I have read up on the subject quite a bit, and I am doing e-mail marketing myself.

I find that in order to write e-mails from our respond or, I concentrate on trying to write as if I'm having a conversation with a friend of mine. As for how many e-mails do you write, I would recommend two or three a week, and for his many weeks as she could possibly do to set your e-mail marketing on autopilot.

Depending on the niche that you're in, information for your autoresponder is all over the Internet. Do some research correlate a bunch of information together that is pertinent to your niche and a topic that you want cover within your niche. You could also get PLR, or get someone to write it for you.

These are just my suggestions. I'm sure others have different suggestions as well.

    To your success.

My biggest issue w/ writing autoresponder emails (particularly as a prerequisite for building up to an infoproduct) is writing content that doesn't give too much info away but also doesn't sound like a waste of time for the subscriber.

    Hi Pete,

Ray charges somewhere around $15k a letter, I think... so he certainly knows what he's doing.

And the price is a STEAL.

I think your respond to their emails must be specific, precise, detailed and accurate to what they are asking. So that that the responders will not get bored in reading your reply with their emails.

You need to sitdown and take sometimes to create your autoresponder messages after all, you will only do it once.

Here's what you need to do.

    1. You need to know the product and its purpose
    2. Put yourself on the shoe of your customers and ask every possible questions regarding the product.
    3. Try to answer the questions that you wrote

If you done just these 3 steps then you already have confidence to write the right messages.

Tip # 1: Avoid putting any sales pitches on your first 3 emails even putting any link that will lead to any offers.

Tip # 2: Try to avoid using spammy words such as: free, links, get rich, money making etc. as most of spam filters hates the words. If you cannot avaoid to use it then alter the spelling like "free" to "f.ree" or "f ree".

Tip # 3: Spread your messages twice a month just to keep your subscribers remember your name. Overdoing it will just irritate your subscribers specially if your target niche is in the internet marketing niche.

PLR is excellent to use for email marketing. Because you are not publishing it on the web (well you can, but you dont have to), 99% of readers wont know its duplicate content.

You can get a lot of mileage out of PLR this way.

Adeel Chowdry wrote/sold something on autoresponders earlier this year but I dont know much about it.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not very good at writing autoresponders.

There are some advantages in writing autoresponder content:

You don't need to worry about duplicate content, keywords or search engine rankings. You can even use PLR as is, if you want. Just get some and break it in small bits and send it.

You can send as many or as few emails as you want you are in control. If you have nothing to send don't send or alternatively load up 24 in one go and send one every two weeks. Send them some PLR "gifts" if you want too, remember your one of the good guys.

Shop around for some really good offers and from time to time send an offer. See yourself as the buying agent for your list, your job is to scour the net for the best possible offers for them.

Autoresponders and emails are what I specialize in. Got a long list of guru-types that I write for, including Schefren, Walker, Mandossian and others.

There's lots of ways to do it, but I've found a "formula" that works pretty darn well to get opens and click-thrus. If you want to know more about it, check my sig below.

If you want something for free, I got a bunch of videos that answer some of the biggest FAQs about email and autoresponder copywriting. Just click the YouTube link at the left and have at 'em.

    nicholasab is right.

Be conversational - and better still....

Why pick a product to "sell" and attempt to get a list together if you don't know enough about it to write about a series of benefits that you can expound upon in your autoresponders. If you've nothing to say, then you're nothing more than a glorified affiliate and you should leave the list building to the experts. Your content should come from your knowledge or desire of the product you are promoting.

    Cheers

Using PLR is great...You can rewrite and personalize plr articles and add your own links.
Another option is simply to outsource it. (No headaches! lol)

I also like signing up for autoresponder messages from other marketers...not to steal their content, but to learn from them.

It really depends on the niche but some of my list get an email once a week and some get an email every day .

I never write an email that does not have a link in the sig / ps: section . Call me crazy but I am in IM to make money .

I start each series with a story about how someone had a problem. The emails build from an interesting story to a solution to the problem .

When using this format , I have to mail every day . It would be hard to warm a product every two weeks and sell 3 to 5 emails later .

I'm new at it, but so far setting up my autoresponders has been a lot of fun. Mainly because I really like sharing things that I know and giving people stuff that makes them happy.

In trying to figure it all out I have subscribed to probably 50 to 75 newsletters. I have learned that most of them are useless. I quickly unsubscribe from a lot of them. I've tried to take into consideration what I like and don't like when I'm receiving newsletters.

I don't like being told I'm getting a free gift and then finding out that it isn't free - it's the same sales page I went to when I signed up. After this happens once or twice, I "Unsubscribe."

I don't like rehashed information that I can find anywhere. It doesn't turn me off so bad that I have to unsubscribe right away, but it doesn't win any points, either.

I have two favorite lists. The one guy makes me feel like I know him - and I like him. (He hasn't persuaded me to buy anything yet, but I like him and I'm open to it if the right offer came along.) I think it's important to make your subscribers like you. People like to feel important. One thing this guy does that I like is that he has a series of lessons (video tutorials) on internet marketing. He gives really useful tips and sells supporting software and other info. The video series really makes me feel like I have a personal relationship with him, although, in reality I'm just another e-mail address on his list.

Another guy that I subscribe to just does a nice job following up on his promises and offers good information, so he keeps me hanging on as a subscriber.

Why not subscribe to a bunch of newsletters and see how other people do what they do - that way you really know how it is to be on the receiving end. You'll know what you like and don't like about autoresponder messages and you can set your own up accordingly.

And, give nice things away - that's a way to get a sale - at least, it works great for brick and mortar businesses. When I had real retail establishments, I always thought that we did a lot of business on the principles of personality and giving stuff away. People have to like you and trust you and they feel subconsciously obligated to you whenever you give them something nice.

The best way to write an auto responder email is to personalize it as much as possible. Create a spreadsheet with the basic info you have for your contacts, maybe take an extra step to find out as much as possible about them. Then code an email to plug in the appropriate information at the appropriate time.

Source: Affiliate recruitment emails. When I switched to this style of email we went from a 2% return to a 35% return and I experience that type of return almost every email.
