Default Site Flippers and Warriors help

Hi warriors, I have posted a similar but not so similar post about this in the past. I need your advise and it is urgent.

I have a site which has been making some money to be sold but I can't use paypal at the moment cos of the issues of Nigeria and paypal.

The site made $511 last month but had some issues early this month and has only been able to make just $398 this month. The first month was $167.

I am looking to sell the site for between $2500 and $2900 and would like to ask the following?

Can it command that much?
What other payment options are available?

I know most site buyers normally pay via paypal or bank wire but I can't met any of the two at the moment.

Any other alternative?

Hi yommys01

I would seriously look into escrow.com. If you're selling anything over $300-$500 you should consider escrow.com because it protects both the buyer and seller. I know that Nigeria has had a bad reputation lately which hurts good webmasters and by using a reputable service like escrow.com, you'll be giving the buyer confidence and you yourself will feel confident you won't (or shouldn't) get ripped off by the buyer.

Not sure their policies on Nigeria though but hopefully the suggestion above is helpful

I think if you're averaging $300-$400 per month, you can ask for at least 10x but more experienced flippers might tell you differently.

Good luck with the sale!

I can use escrow.com but the problem is, international checks take about 21 days to get clear here in Nigeria and that is way too long for me at the moment.

As for the price, I don't think I cn get 10x due to the economy.

You'd be surprised yommy!

Are you selling at Flippa or trying to sell privately?

I sold a site on Sitepoint (pre flippa) with an asking price of $750 and this site only made about $50/month and but it was a PR 4. Yet it had hardly any traffic. Even I was surprised.

But yes, if you're in a hurry then you'd probably have to take less.

Good luck regardless

I won't mind such a surprise. I can leave my BIN price to be very high to see if someone will be crazy enough to buy it at that price.

Selling price is not going to be an issue here, what will be an issue is recieving payment.

Thanks for your PM and the invitation to look at this thread,
re my experience in premium flipping sites.

Interesting that your site is making this much, yommy. But
in my premium flipping strategy, we don't sell an established
site to fellow webmasters/IMers. We sell to premium
COMPANIES who are already paying big money for relevant
traffic/visitors. So, while webmasters/IMers are more
interested in "how much is the site making", we concentrate
on "how much unique traffic is the site getting, how
strong/consistent is the traffic, how/where is the traffic
coming from, etc" That's what our premium buyers are
more interested in. They buy our sites if and only if they
know they will be getting good value with the visitors
coming to the site, not really whether the site makes
money or not.

So - for this site of yours to be effectively premium flipped,
you have to take a good look at the traffic stats and
answer the above questions and more. If you end up
with good answers, then you can contact COMPANIES
in the niche that are currently paying big money daily
for traffic and present your site for sale to them. Of course
there's much more to the process of doing that, but you
get the point,

I don't think you can sell it at 10x because at 3 months old it doesn't have enough income history. It depends alot on where you get your traffic from - for instance if most of your traffic comes from the search engines then you can command a higher price. If the majority comes from article marketing then the site will be much lower value. You might get about 6x, but with the income gone down this month it might be a little less.

I don't know how you're going to receive payment though as most buyers would only use Paypal, wire transfer or Escrow. Why not go for Escrow and International Priority Mail - it's $60 but I've used it and got the check in a day or two. The only problem with Escrow is that the transaction usually takes longer as you'll probably need to include an inspection period.

Put it on flippa and see if people are interested. I'm sure you can probably get $1,500 there

Thanks for the reply, I can use escrow but problem is, Nigeria is not accepted and then the check will take forever to get cleared here in Benin Republic.

Yommys01, Escrow.com will wire the funds directly to your bank account.
