Help With Clickbank Problem - Losing Money.

Hi warriors,
I just crossed the $1k mark in clickbank sales but I notice something weird. Clickbank only sent $514 ( 3 different times). I expected them to send another check last week but they never did, instead it says threshold.

I have my threshold at $250 and me think I should still be sent another check. Is this normal or unusual?

As far as I remember, there is a grace period of 2 weeks (?) for them to send the money. May be you'd be in that period.

Was your balance over your $250 threshold at the time the checks were processed? It does seem a bit strange if you've reached the threshold and there is no other reason why they shouldn't send your check.

I would double check your threshold, although if you haven't changed it then it should be ok. Perhaps wait another 2 weeks and see if they send their check, or contact them and ask why it wasn't sent. I have never had this happen.

You need to read their accounting rules to understand the way they calculate holdbacks, etc. They only pay you 90% of what you are owed, and hold back 10% (maybe more depending on circumstances such as historical return rate). If your threshold is $250 and you are owed less, you'll need to make another few sales to get above that threshold before they pay you. You can change the threshold anytime you like.

I have check my trasactions and it says I have about $1400 but only $514 has been sent in form of check which means I still have about $900 but nothing is said about that on the last payment day.

Here is what my stats read for the last payment date end 2009-09-16

Balance Forward Credits Debits Release Allowance Net payment Status
      $0.00 $98.44 $-26.96 $0.00 $0.00 $71.48 Threshold

Stats for payment date ending 2009-09-02

BF Credits Debits Release Allowance Net payment Status
      $0.00 $428.63 $-2.50 $0.00 $214.31 $211.82 Paid

Even from the stats about, it is obvious that I should still have gotten another check on 2009-09-16 but even then, what happens the the of the money in my account.

My trasaction stats from the date of the account creation reads Displaying all 75 results. Total: $1,441.97

      The paycheck stats read

      Sum of 2009 Paychecks: $514.16
      Sum of 2008 Paychecks: $0.00

The account was created in August 2008 but I was only able to make the 5 required sales earlier this year.

I contacted clickbank and it is 2 days now yet they have not emailed me back. This is becoming annoying.

I bet man. I'm almost done with my eBook that I'm going to be selling for about $27 (I think), and I was considering going through ClickBank to make the sales, but I don't know if I want to wait to receive the money every 2 weeks or whatever. Affiliates would be great for me, but I don't think that many would bother with something selling for $27! I could be wrong. Hopefully you hear back from them soon. Do they have a support line you could call?

DarkTemplar... you may want to charge more for your book. Just make sure it is really good, to avoid returns.

The interesting thing about charging more for an item is people convince themselves that it's worth more... BEFORE THEY BUY IT. Charging more will reduce the number of returns and make you more money in the process.

Look at the books on Amazon that sell for $100+ per book. They are usually in very specific niches. But, interestingly, they usually have amazing reviews.

        Just a thought.

I can not call them from this part of the world. They don't accept Nigeria and Benin but you can use them by adopting another country and recieving your checks in the adopted country.

I get my CB commissions deposited via direct deposit every week.

Yommy, the pay period is 1 week - from Wednesday to Tuesday at Midnight MST. The sales you make in that week are adjusted by the holdback (usually 10% but could be 20%) and then adjusted for refunds and then 2 weeks later, you get a check for THAT WEEK.

The holdback is held for 6 pay periods and then it is released as a further credit to the CURRENT week's check.

So if you made - say $500 then they would take out $100 for the holdback (20%) and then subtract refunds and then add in the holdback from 6 payperiods ago. So your check may only be $378 or so.

    Hope this helps.

Well I have about $1400 since the creation of the account in 2008 and I have only been sent 3 checks totalling $514.

I have made more than $1200 between July and September and I expect I should get at least $1000 even with the hold back.

Congrats yommys01. Seems like you're starting to make it work.

It might be best to mix up your affiliate activities by using other programs and not Clickbank alone.

Have a nice mix of different affiliate programs to make sure all your eggs aren't in one basket.

If you can, start producing your own products. You can still list it on clickbank to get the affiliates, but when promoting it yourself, have a simple paypal button on a different sales page.

Hello Desmond, thanks for the advise. I am in the process of creating my own product but paypal is going to be a great problem cos of the issues with Nigeria.

[quote] can always post it in their sidewiki [quote]I am not sure what you mean, can u explain please?

I got a reply from them but it is one of the most stupid standard copy/paste replies which is very annoying.

huh, that's odd. Clickbank pays me every 2 weeks right on time (probably because I'm from Canada), and yeah the 10% threshold does come into play, but that obviously isn't the case here. I don't know if your location has something to do with it.

You may want to use some other affiliate programs like Desmond said. Keep track of your Clickbank account in the meantime.

Thanks for the advise. Well, I don't think the Country I am from makes any difference here.

I know many people here who use the same method - have their checks sent to countries that on clickbank's list.

I am waiting for them to reply me but I don't feel good about this whole thing at all.

Thanks for the comment. I hope they will find out what is wrong and let me know. I just hope not to lose money to that as that will really hurt me.
