Default File encryption

I'm looking for a good file encryption software (freeware) that will do batches in one go and that works in Vista 32 and 64 bit. I have found tons but was curious if there were opinions out there. I know of truecrypt but the files would then be moved to the cloud so I don't want a volume on my hdd. Thanks!
