Default Two unrelated questions

1. Stumbleupon- As long as we pick other sites other than our own is it fairly safe to bookmark and reveiw our own sites?

2. When an affiliate program manager tells us that a cookie is stored for 90 days, and if a purchase is made within that time we still get paid, do they mean the cookie is stored on their system or the customer?

Of course if it is stored on the customers pc and they clear the cookies then we will not get credit for the sale I persume?

The cookies get stored on the customer's computer, and yes, if they clear their cookies, you've lost the sale.

Thought as much. It's a pain cos a good number of the better products on clickbank do have their own opt in boxes.

So my quandry now is, a product with a better IMO landing/sales page but an opt in box OR a similar product with a not so great landing page but no opt in.

Ok let's open this up if possible. What do other warriors do with this kind of situation?

you can stumble a site that has your site on it or an article directory page displaying your article leading to your site or affiliate sites promoting your product

People disagree about this.

Many Warriors are Clickbank vendors with an opt-in on their sales page.

As an affiliate, I'm not normally willing to promote a Clickbank product with a vendor's opt-in on the sales page. I know that many successful professional affiliates agree with this, because they've said so openly in a dozen other threads in which we've discussed it over the last couple of months. It's just not something I need to do. There are many other products without this hazard to me. I'm no longer willing to take a chance on it. And that's a big part of why I'm earning a living now and I wasn't before.

Thanks al. I know you are definatley not one for promoting products with an opt in box.
In fact I did search knowing that this would have been covered. The terms I was searching for through up a diverse selection of posts but none leading me to an answer.

I was using ambiguous terms perhaps ;.)

Tis a shame as it seems that it is the better looking landing pages that have the opt in.

"They" say that you should not, due to account closure risk? but I always stumble directly, with no negative effects

I stumble, digg, and use social marker to hit up a lot of bookmarkers all at once and yes I do it to my own pages. I also have a group who I am "friends" with and have the stumble toolbar installed. They can send me pages to stumble and visa versa.

The key is to stumble stuff you really do like and not just stumble crap or others will be on to you. When you find other stuff on the web, do stumble it and give a bit of a mix as to what you have going on.

Social marker will take a few hours to get going as you will be able to sign up for a lot of sites, but after you are a member of them all you can hit all the bookmarks you want in a much quicker fashion.
