Hello
I have just started list building and have been getting a 50% CTR - I give away a free guide via squeeze page - statistics show that only 50% of people that opt in click through to the free guide Is this good or bad ? Any Advice ? Many thanks for any useful tips |

uh, why should they be clicking anywhere to get the free guide?
You should put the free guide right on your thank you page. This almost guarantee's they get it, and if you do the guide/thank you page correctly, you can monetize that almost immediately. Rob |

Rob .. my question is about the 50% CTR .. meaning is 50% a good number or should it be higher ?

It should be 100%.
Everyone should be downloading your free giveaway. Are you having them click to another page to get it? Are you having them download after double opt-in? If it's after double opt-in, you need to change it to give it away immediately. Then give them an incentive to double opt-in, like another free giveaway. Rob |

What we have here is a failure to communicate.
Nick, cud you explain to us the exact process your readers go through from the time they land on your site? I don't think we really understand what 50% CTR you are talking about. |

Ok,
You need to put the download on a thank you page that they see immediately after they opt-in. This will get it up to 100% - and this is important because they need to consume your work, this will help turn them into buyers later on. Rob Quote:

hi Nick,
50% CTR ? that's cool but you need to improve check to see how long people stay on your opt-in try place your e-book guide on a download page so that immediately after they confirm their subscription, they get the e-book. you can also try make minimal changes that should make maximum impact in your opt-in form, then afterwards observe your CTR again. try aim at 75% CTR.
