Default Domain, Hosting and Account Registrations

Hi Everyone,
I've been consuming this forum for awhile now and it's given a lot of clarity to me in areas I have struggled with in the past. Thanks to all.

Through all the reading, there's a general concept I haven't developed a definitive opinion about. What are the best practices for account registrations?
  • Domains - Should I privately register all domains? I've been under the assumption that there's no need to publicly let everyone know what all my assets are. But in that case, you end up often doubling your initial cost by buying the privacy.
  • Hosting - I use shared hosting and put all the domains on that host. Is that dangerous? Will the relationship of all being hosted on the same account cause problems? I guess I don't see a low cost way of getting around it.
  • Third Party Accounts - In using third party sites, is it best to create a different public persona, ala a Hollywood actor? Do you recommend having multiple author accounts or is that bad practice? For example, should I have different accounts on each site such as Squidoo, EZA, Blogger, Wordpress and so on?
I'm interested to hear your opinion. Thanks.

Default Re: Domain, Hosting and Account Registrations

I have use Hostgator and I do use them form many domain names on the same host. However, What I will say is that if you have the same type of sites running on the same hosting account, you may get a bit of Google snub.. We all want Google Love but sometimes it just isn't there.. They make the rules and we have to play on their terms.

I don't really worry too much about it. They are not the only Search Engine out there.
