I blogged about this news story today, but since Jason is a regular Warrior member and the story mentions some other well known Warrior members and gurus, I thought I'd share it here too. A story in the business section of the San Diego News Network yesterday reads like “The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Super Affiliates.” I live in San Diego county and didn’t realize how many well known super affiliates, affiliate gurus and Internet marketers live here. But it makes sense – since this is the land of sun and surf. This is a long, detailed story, primarily about Jason Moffatt. It goes into his earnings, his business structure, how he got started and his lifestyle of yoga, meditation and surfing. The story also highlights many of the other big names you might know that live in the area. It’s a great read and you’ll pick up some good insights too. Check it out! Quote:

Very interesting read. The story is really well written and seems to be objective. i don't consider someone making $200K a millionaire in today's economy but the number of hours he works... x ??? would qualify him. I'd alike to experience that lifestyle... soon. I was kind of confused by the answer of people fail because of their personnas? Isn't wht what Web copy is for? So, If we are mean and nasty... we cannot ever make it big on the Internet. |

| Gunslinger War Room Member | Compulsive shoppers Internet entrepreneur Jason Moffatt spends five hours a week doing "actual work," he said. (Photo by Helen Kaiao Chang)Many of Moffatt’s customers are compulsive shoppers. Among the customers who buy his online marketing courses, only 5 percent become successful selling products to other people, he said. Based on the analytics, he estimates that another 5 percent never open the course materials; 50 percent open, but never use them; and 45 percent try, but fail. Why do so many fail? “They’re not likeable, not believable or they’re selling shoddy products,” he said. “Or they don’t learn to market the products effectively. Sometimes people with shoddy products sell more than people with great products, just because they know how to market them.” |

As quiet as it's kept San Diego has quite a Rep. About 6 years ago a friend of mine who lived at the time in Brooklyn NY told me. "I'm going to move to San Diego and work for rich people. They pay you for all kinds of dumb things, like CLEANING THEIR SWIMING POOLS!" LOL George Wright |

Awesome to see his stuff hitting more mainstream news outlets etc. I am sure it won't do any harm for his bottom line either! Really inspiring and encouraging to see, thanks for the share. |

Worked my ass off. I didn't really like them leading with that, and income stuff. In fact I hated it. Almost didn't let them do the story because they were too concerned about numbers this, numbers that. Anyhow, I haven't worked much all summer. Been surfing. And that 5 hour statement is pretty much true for this year. I also don't consider being on forums, facebook, twitter work either. That's screwing off, which is something I tend to do a considerable amount of time. I consider working going out and making sales. Not conversing with your buddies. Thanks for the kind words. | |

Good article- I had done a number interviews a few years back when doing mobile phone stuff in Japan, and found the writers to be asking leading questions to confirm their opinions. This one looks pretty objective. Awesome you were able to plug some of your affiliate sites. Hope it creates even more $ (freedom) to support your laidback lifetstyle- thats the dream! David |

Jason: I thought the story was great and it will go a long way to helping you fill your mentoring group. I mean what's not to love - a surfer dude who works 5 hours a week and makes six figures doing it. You are able to sell the lifestyle most people want and are willing to pay to get close to it, or at least support you in it. Think of all the Frank Kern videos - how many times have you seen a computer or a bookshelf, or even a table full of work in them? Why not -because then people might actually see that it takes work and effort to make money in business. Your videos show you talking about sleeping, healthy drinks, prank calls to telemarketers (my fav) and surfing. Nothing about work - all about What Has Frank/Jason been up to lately? Dreams, lifestyles, attitudes, money are sold - not the 9-5 grind. I know one IM'er who works 7 days a week from 6 in the morning until 8 at night most days. Hell he thought he was having a heart attack at a recent event and the guy is younger than me. But that never gets mentioned in the internet lifestyle or the sales letters he throws out to us. Not knockin it- just offering the commentary you asked for. Enjoy surfing and good luck. Tim |

Great story .. i strongly believe one can do it with focused effort (which i lack sometimes) I am just starting out but i don't consider myself as a newbie because i have been reading how to do internet marketing from the last 2 years .. but finally i realized and started out .. i realized that my strength is in article marketing ... i am seriously writing some good (according to me) articles which are creative, still need to market them and to a lot of stuff. I too have hope of becoming like Jason one day!! But i don't just hope anymore i also work now! Congrats Jason on your success! |

Jason, a quick question for you. You mention, Many of Moffatt’s customers are compulsive shoppers. Among the customers who buy his online marketing courses, only 5 percent become successful selling products to other people, he said. Based on the analytics, he estimates that another 5 percent never open the course materials; 50 percent open, but never use them; and 45 percent try, but fail. 1. Do you ever feel guilty that very few customers actually end up making money? 2. Do you happen to know if the stats are the same for other niches? The reason for me asking is that I am working so damn hard to pack so much value to a product in the health niche that I am not sure if the end users of the product would ever read it or use it. And at the end of the day, if they fail to get rid of the problem, I feel bad and in a guilty for having their money but not having achieved the cause. Just wanted to know your thoughts. Thanks, Dan |

| That what I thought at first too, but after further review...my guess is that the 5% who are successful are part of that 50% who open the course.

G'D all Thanks for the posting and link. I found it to be very inspirational and motivational. I can relaste to the kind of conflict that Jason has between his marketing side and his spiritual side a I have te same kind of sitution myself. This can be sorted out with time. Perhaps we should feel sorry for the person who posted the negative comment and hope he will learn the real facts some day. Anyway thanks once again |
