The 3 Similar but unique niches below.....

1] work from home niche

2] Traffic generation

3] Internet marketing

They are similar but different...

a) Which of the following niches above are the majority of warriors on this forum actually in (marketing products in)

b) Which niche is the least amount of people on this forum in?

c) In other words, list them in order of popularity.... to how many warriors are in the niche.

d) Which list is generally more popular on the internet, to make money?

e) Which 2 are most linked, leaving the other one not as similar/linked to these 2?

f) Which have the exact same goals for the customers coming to their sites?

and which one again would Not have the same goals as the rest? (or which 2 would have different goals to that one)

    a) I think there is a huge variety here - I do some IM and some smaller niche stuff. Many here do one or the other

    b) I would guess traffic generation. It is more specific than IM or WAH

    c) IM
    WAH
    TG

    d) Most popular? Work at home - but this is not the most "profitable" overall. When people realize the scope of internet marketing as a whole the doors are WIDE open.

    e) IM and TG

    f) WAH and IM

    g) All have the same goals I would hope which is to make money or help the end user to make money.

    h) A traffic generation site could be singled out - but I can't explain why at the moment.

Work from home and Internet marketing are different niches. Choose one, and make you research.

Work for home is a big market, and while many Internet marketers work from home, many have an office.

Small businesses who want to promote their business online need in Internet marketing while they are not interested in work from home.

Someone who work from home as a telemarketer may not be interested in traffic generation... while an Internet marketer can't live without it.

Do your research and stick with ONE market only. Latter on, you will be able to expand, but not until you understand your primary niche.

I hope this makes sense for you.

Many of those ad swaps are geared towards newbies who want to make money online from home. They may not even know what is Internet marketing.

Leave the ad swap section for now, and do this:

    1. Go to google and type: "work from home", and look at the free and paid results (what are the sites all about)?

    Then, take notes.

    2. Repeat the same thing for the "Internet marketing" niche and look at the similarities, look at what is different.

    3. Go to Quantcast - Home and type the first three sites you find on Google, and look at the stats, what are the sites they visit, ect...

This will get you busy. Make sure to take notes and see the differences and similarities between these two niches.

By the way, your questions above are too general, and I don't know if you want to create a product, but the first thing you want to know is what you want to do online?

Your best bet is to taste the water with affiliate marketing first.

    All the best,

The last one kind of falls under those two.

            Is it a trick question?

I think it's obvious that "Internet Marketing" is a niche in the "work from home" sector, and "traffic generation" is definitely a sub-niche of IM.

The IM sub-niche may in fact be by far the largest part of WFH but it is still a sub-niche of it. The fact that some IMers work from an office is kind of irrelevant. There are probably 100 other sub-niches of WFH that could be scaled up to requiring an office. They'd all be something that could be done from home though.

            Anyway, WFH>IM>TG

They are positively different and the Majority of Warriors do Traffic Generation and IM !! Personally, I go for the Work from Home Niche. These potential customers are NOT Bloggers or PPC players. They are just average joes looking for ways to make extra money from home. These people you are NOT trying to sell Marketing products to make them better Bloggers unlike some of what fellow Warriors here try to desperately do on a non-stop basis !
In other wards its a real Man's Niche !!

Your example isnt very good, unless you meant "desserts"

How about "Internet Marketing is a way to Make Money From Home, but Making Money From Home doesn't require Internet Marketing"

        and

"Traffic Generation is Internet Marketing, but Internet Marketing is not only Traffic Generation" (though.. some would argue this isn't true. Maybe this is your point?)

Anyway I had to make two phrases because you have 3 variables.

Actually I think you might have been trying to make a grand point, am I right? You might be trying to say that any business, whether it is internet marketing, working at home, or running a store requires traffic generation. You need people through the door of your shop, you need people to buy your cookies or soap, you need people to go to your website ie You always need to generate traffic of some kind. If this is your point then lets try the phrase:

"Internet Marketing and Working from Home require Traffic Generation. Traffic Generation does not require Internet Marketing or Working from Home."

        Hmm. I'm getting confused.

I personally think they are all clear individual niches, as work from home could be any number of products, you get the online surveys, forex software and othe more obscure ones (make money taking pictres

Internet Marketing is just that so things like making money blogging, twittering writing artcticles ppc etc. is cover by Internet marketikng (even this is very broad and I think Blogging, twittering and PPC are fairly large sub niches)

SEO people may want their site to be found as its a membership site or so they can capitalise on selling ad space, I don't think its purely based around Internet marketing.

Funny. Me and my collegues was in Dubai on a business trip and took the desert safari.

At the end we came to a nice place in the desert where there was tents and lots of great food. Belly dancing and everything.

At the icecream and cake dessert later someone at the table said: "Hey! We're eating dessert in the desert!"

          Can not forget that one.

Work from home and Internet Marketing are not the same thing.

Work from home may not have anything to do with the Internet. You can work from home by stuffing envelopes, baking brownies, making bars of soap, producing videos on how to make wooden toys, etc.

Internet Marketing can be a sub-niche of working from home, but large ecommerce companies like Amazon.com are hardly a work from home endeavor.

And traffic generation is something that applies to Internet Marketing, but not necessarily to working from home. If my business is making soap and I don't even have a computer, I have no need to generate traffic.

Generating traffic is an activity required by Internet Marketing, but it isn't IM in itself.

You're right soap making doesn't need the internet. But at the same time stuffing envelopes doesn't require soap ingredients and baking brownies doesn't need carpenters tools. Despite this, they are all valid niches in the Work From Home Market. So is internet marketing.

Amazon may be big, but so are Proctor & Gamble for example, that doesn't stop soap-making from being a niche in the work from home market. Just because conglomorates also make soap (engage in internet marketing) it doesn't mean that people working from home can't.

Internet marketing is just as valid as soap making as a niche in the work from home market.

I've totally missed your point on that one. Where did I say that stuffing envelopes requires soap ingredients? My point was that there are plenty of work from home projects that can be completely offline and unplugged from the Internet, therefore the work from home niche is separate and distinct from the Internet Marketing niche. And I also stated that Internet Marketing can be a sub-niche of working from home. So...your point is?

I never said the home worker can't engage in Internet marketing. You're working hard at reading things into my post and arriving at conclusions that I never even dreamed of.

My point in mentioning Amazon was that not all Internet Marketing endeavors are also home working endeavors. It was not to indicate that somehow home workers cannot use the Internet.

i do find the work from home term way too varied and tend to avoid it best i can. As it could involve anything from being a professional blogger right through to selling avon.

    Work from Home:

Start your own beauty saloon, make fruit baskets, internet marketing

    Internet Marketing:

Convertion rates, branding, traffic generation, niche picking

    Traffic generation

Article marketing, web 2.0, ppc, banners, link wheels, backlinks. Many tricks etc. People love loopeholes. For me, traffic generation feels like the place where you end up after you discovering Internet Marketing.

Traffic generation is the niche of these where I spend most of my money.

Ok now I haven't read every post here on this topic, but there is a BIG difference in all of those niches. The work from home niche can be anything from doing jobs on rentacoder.com to taking surveys for cash and prizes. Internet marketing is just how it sounds, marketing via the internet, whether your marketing a service a book, a vacation deal, or toys, its just the new generation of marketing. As for website traffic, that kind of is part of the IM point, but its so much more as well.

All three of these niches are part of the larger "make Money" niche.

But you can break down the three mentioned niches into primary and
sub niches in multiple ways...just depends on your perspective.

Hey entry, that's almost one week since you posted the first post here.

Did you finally choose a niche to go after?

There's no much to think about. Pick a niche, learn more about it, become good yourself at it and create a product.

Or if you are lazy, just do affiliate marketing... and create your product later on.

But get started. Or maybe you already started on a secret project?
