That's a good list and they're right - many of those things I'm not doing. There's just not enough time in the day to do all this for all my sites and then launch new projects. That's why sometimes I think it's best just to have one authority site that you sell everything from.

But if you've only just got that email, I'd suggest a 60th thing - update your email program!

Bad Advice on...

#7 - unless this is your baby, your only site you're ever going to have.

#10 - same as #7 and why give Google all your stats for free anyway? Use Statcounter or your own stats program.

#13 - Only if you're a business. It wouldn't be too smart to list your home phone number and address!

#16 - link: in Google is pretty useless

#19 - keyword meta-tag is ignored by Google and not a big factor for Yahoo or Bing.

#21/22 - Not really necessary unless there are serious display problems in IE7/8 or Firefox.

#24 - Most of these are nofollow links and mostly useless.
