Article Generators..Is it possible??

So through all my research i clearly understand how important writing good quality articles for your website and submiting to article directories, can be!
And i know that most people say the best way to do so is write them yourself or pay someone to. That all sounds easy enough to understand, but what if you cant afford somone right now to write articles for you and writing them yourself is just not your thing. So, i have recently come across these keyword article generators that have got my attention. If i am understaning correctly you type a keyword(s) in and it pulls up an article with a resource box telling where the info came from.

Now my question, well actually i have a few questions is how many of you use these types of software and which one do you feel is the best??
-Also what kind of quality rank do you get from these generated articles?

-Do you have to include the references when you post your article?

Now i understand that this method will probably not produce the same quality as the articles you write yourself or pay someone to.
But....if your like me and have writers block everytime you have to write anything, could you just use the generated article as a starting place and just try and rewrite it?? It would seem that if the article that was generated was of not good quality but you changed it up to make it sound better that would be a better approach then to just take an already written article on the web by somone else and try to rewrite it?!

Or take the generated article and rewrite it and then spin it for another variation?
Am i sounding crazy or could this work for somone who has a hard time writing from scratch?
Also, is there a website where you can paste your articlew into and get back some kind of quality score? Also a program where you can check to make sure your article is not the same as someone elses already on the web?? thanks
