Hello, So I'm thinking about trying my luck as an amazon.de affiliate, and was wondering if I would have just as much luck marketing a german .com domain as I would with a .de name? Anybody have any experience? |

If you are trying to target germans I found that .de was better - sense of community and trust is pre-established veil gluck!

I agree with .de As a British born marketer Im well accustomed to .com but most Germans are not. When ever someone mentions a website, i always ask .de or .com ... they instinctively leave out the ending as its always .de in their minds. The other factor is that most people do not believe they speak good English so prefer German sites. I know people here who speak better English then my friends back home, yet they always prefer the German version of a site. Hope that helps. |

I agree: the Germans love their .de. But therefor a lot of them are taken by domainers who hoped to get rich without developing them. Fortunately people do not buy by urls but by search engine rankings. Here I do not see any diffeences between de. .com .org. At least not, when it come to keyword domains. |
