How I Sold 985 Copies of an Affiliate Offer in 5 Days (Step by Step)
These days, I can typically do it in the span of a week.
Sure 985 copies of an abs book won't be enough to buy a new car, but
I still get SO many emails and messages here on the forum, from beginners
wanting to know the easiest way to get started online.
So, I wanted to actually walk you through the last affiliate offer I promoted.
It was an abs program I found on Clickbank.
Now, the way I find offers?
I play "matchmaker". I think of some of the bigger problems people have
in their lives, and then I try and "match them up" with a decent product.
By doing the affiliate route... you can often get started in a day or two,
because all you have to do is find your "market" and your "offer".
The market and offer are the 2 most important parts of the equation....
and copy is 3rd. Since it's an affiliate offer, that's done for you.
So, if you're looking for offers to promote, play the "match maker"
game in which you find a big problem people want solved, and then
find a product that solves it.
Match the 2 up, by using the steps I have below.
1. Find an offer on Clickbank that solves a problem and you know
people actively BUY solutions to.
This is why weight loss, health and wellness, dating, finance, jobs,
make money, relationships, marriage... all of these can be top sellers
because they deal with quality of life issues.
People will spend money to solve a problem that's bugging
them and taking away their happiness.
They'll give you money to get back into their comfort zone.
So, find a niche that happens to help people solve a quality
of life problem.
2. Out of the program, highlight ONE tip or technique you can
give away, in a free report.
The reason you want to give away a really good tip or technique?
It demonstrates to the prospect that you have answers, that
you're willing to help, and it gets them thinking there's a LOT
more good stuff.
For this abs program, I gave away a report that talked about
how sit ups are dangerous to do, and they don't help you get
abs at all.
I used plenty of facts and research to support the findings,
and by going against what so many people "think" is the
answer to getting abs... you trigger curiosity.
In the free report, I pre-sell the idea of a better way to get
abs, and I even talk about the method briefly... leading
people from the free report to the sales page.
Again, this free report is crucial, in that you CAN'T give
away just anything.
If your free info is garbage, people will assume any product
you have or promote is garbage.
Give away something immediately useful and valuable and
the prospect will think that whatever else you have is the same.
The free report demonstrates your expertise... which means
it can demonstrate that you have the answer... or you don't.
When in doubt, give away your best stuff.
Information is everywhere... but insight is not. In the free
report, give away something a person can use and see
a result, fast.
By doing this, and being helpful, not only do you dramatically
increase the odds of making a sale, but the people reading it
will be more likely in wanting to hear from you again.
The more helpful you are in the report, the better the chance
your prospects will want to hear from you, and will open your emails.
3. Facebook ad to promote the free report
This is where a lot of people mess up.
First of all, you can't make a bunch of claims on Facebook but what you CAN do is
use a case study that demonstrates what you're trying to say.
So, in my Facebook ad, I used the results that a good friend
of mine shared with me recently, at the gym, when he lifted up
his t-shirt and showed me his six pack abs.
That's when I asked him if I could use him in a case study
and ask him what he did. That way, I could use some of this
in the Facebook ad, without making claims I couldn't back up.
In your Facebook ad, you want to talk about one tip or
technique you're giving away, again, something that will help
a prospect see a result.
I can't get into all the targeting options I used... but
Facebook is effective when used right.
But, you can't make claims and you can't directly
link to an affiliate offer, at least not for long.
What you CAN do is use a case study to demonstrate
results, and give away a free report that has incredibly
useful and valuable info.
4. From the Facebook ad, send to opt in page
After you put up your Facebook ad, make sure the
prospect is sent to your opt in/squeeze page where you can
get their email address in return for the free report.
Be specific and laser focused on the problem you're
going to address and the solution you'll be giving them
in the report.
The more specifics you use on the opt in page, the
more believable it is.
And again, use curiosity to your advantage... think
of what your prospect would be dying to know if they
wanted to get abs.
5. From opt in page to thank you page
Once someone opts in, you can send them directly to
a thank you page, where MANY times you can make
a direct sale so you recoup some of your ad spend.
A little trick of the trade?
Some marketers will give you a discount link in the
affiliate resource center... knocking $10 or so off the
price of the program.
Well, on the Thank you page, you can put this discount
link there, for the prospect to buy now, so they save
money and you make an immediate sale.
The thank you page is a very underused piece of
real estate that I've found to be VERY profitable.
Why not offer a REAL discount and legit scarcity,
where you can actually say this $10 off is only good
right then and there.
6. Email follow up.
After they see the thank you page, they'll receive emails
that try and get them back to the sales page.
When done right, your emails will help boost rapport
and trust.. .because you're STILL giving them valuable
and helpful advice.
The minute you start bombarding them with sales pitches,
you'll be deleted and they will unsubscribe.
So use email to keep the relationship strong by offering up
useful, valuable information that also gets them back to the
offer you're promoting.
Give away a key piece of insight and advice in the first part
of the email and tie it into the affiliate offer.
From here, if someone buys, you can place them on a buyers
list, so you can then offer up more value, insight, and advice
that you get paid for.
There you have the steps I used to sell almost 1,000 copies
of an affiliate offer in less than a week.
I'm able to do this, because I've been marketing and writing
copy for 17 years, so I've learned how to use ATTRACTION
marketing instead of pushing stuff onto people.
I promise, give these steps a try and think of yourself
as a "match maker" and you can literally grab an affiliate
offer and start selling stuff online as soon as tonight.
