I've been in the process of digging through materials and trying to get some items in order.
I bought a MRR product which is an ebook video combo (months ago and never got it kicked off). It seemed like a great idea when I first got it but going through it today I had a huge realization. The video links go to someone elses site. What happens if this persons hosting goes down or they are no longer available? There is no guarantee that this product will be usable to my customers in the future. I can see selling an ebook on its own as a MRR product, but I think offering video is just way too risky unless you are given the video files in the MRR product and allowed to alter the links in the book. I think the only valid solution to this is to create this type of offering with included video files that the end user can download to keep and have access to at a later time. Users should be encouraged to download all the files asap to avoid problems or issues in the future. A PLR product on the other hand that involves video and an ebook would include the videos as part of the package. Just something to consider when creating a product or going to buy one that gives you MRR. |

Hi Jill, interesting post.
We are looking at releasing some video based MMR and PLR content even. You raise a great point about availability of files. We are thinking of giving all the files and the templates and instructions on how to use amazon s3 (it's cheap and brilliantly simple to use). And of course a video tutorial on how to put it all back together. My question is, if you were shopping for MRR, would you pay an extra $20 for us to set it all up on your domain? We are trying to remove any technical barriers to people getting high value video products in the portfolio. Do you think this would be popular? Cheers AJ |

That's a great point!
I just downloaded a PLR product i brought last week and the bonus in it was an audio file which i didn't know until i checked and its also a .exe and goes to their sales page to capture leads! The whole point of it being PLR is so that i can change it for goodness sake and make it benefit me seeing as i paid for it. Oh well... just wont be using that one! Tom Brite |

I bought a MRR package of videos that were in exe ebooks. They were hosted with the guy who made them. Luckily he also provided download links for the videos also so I could set them up and host them myself.

most of the MRR and PLR are used to capture lead.. to build a list. and I believe they are linking to someone website to gain profit in the future.. or they make some JV with creator of other products

Okay, so, I know this seems obvious but if a vendor of MRR and PLR products demonstrated the following:
1. Raw and compiled versions of the items on offer (ie. both word doc and pdf, raw video and web ready flv/swf files) 2. A step by step action sequence (written or screencap video) on how to get the product on to a server/clickbank/where ever it is going 3. a $20 upsell to do it for you So if all of this was present am I right in thinking you'd be more inclined to trust the vendor and purchase the product? Oh and btw, to say thanks for the excellent market research if you pm me with your details I'll send you pre-release copies of our new stuff free of charge! Having feedback like this helps design better products and ensure high customer satisfaction :-) |

Sending Pm! Thanks for the offer.
I think showing how to install the files and get set up is a great touch. Quote:
The benefit of MRR or PLR is the 100% profit you can get from using/promoting them and the ease of having a ready made product so a campaign can be assembled quicker. You can set them up for automatic paypal payments and you aren't waiting for two months or what ever time period to get paid. Of course you do need to be careful not to spend it all until the return period as expired. | |
