Default Anybody Suggest A Good Private Discussion Board?

Hi Folks,

I'm new to the Warrior Forum and would like to extend a warm hello to everybody!

I have a quick question regarding 'private discussions boards':
I took Jimmy D. Brown's 'Workshop At Home' - about setting up your own eClass which I enjoyed and included with it was his 'personal coaching script' (private discussion board - 'Easy Coach Pro') which allows the customer to log in and write a message to you and in return, you too, could log in at your leisure and write back. It's not a 'live' discussion. Only messages sent.

For someone who would like to set up their own eClass (with coaching included), the unreliability of sending emails makes me believe that a discussion board is just what I need.

Now, I installed Jimmy's script but have decided not to use it and prefer to have something that I can call my own.

My point is - does anybody have any good recommendations for 'private discussion board' software or scripts? I've thought of using 'Help Desk' software like Willie Crawford's - 'Three Pillars help Desk' - but I'm not sure if that might look a little 'unprofessiona'l for doing coaching for your eClasses - for it might seem as if I'm cutting corners by combining my Help Desk along with my coaching program discussion board.

Thanks a lot folks and I would greatly appreciate any help that I can get!!

It depend how interaction your class will be.

One simple way is to use Wordpress, just get a membership plugin.
Only member can see paid content. You can till blog free content.

There are much more powerful scripts around. You can check those out at 10 open source e-learning projects to watch - Techworld

Just note that it is not that easy to handle some of these scripts. ( I have only played a few before )
