Question about audio...

Hi Warriors

I'm going to be recording some audio, and I would like to get it professionally tweaked so that it has an jingle intro and ending, and making sure it's up to CD quality.

I have downloaded audio content from many people in the past, and sometimes even with the volume up full on my ipod I can't hear what's being said.

I plan on using a USB microphone & audacity, and then I get stuck, what settings should I be using within audacity?

Also what's the best outsourcing site to use to get the jingles added, and would I actually be able to get it done for $20, I would expect it's < 1 hour for someone who know's what they're doing.

Thanks

Audacity is a great program. I've been using it for years.

To get the best sound possible the best advice I can give you is to practice your mic position. You want it close enough to you where the wave form in audacity almost fills up the preview bar but you dont want the wave form to hit the top. You also dont want it too low because when you crank up the audio internialy in audacity you will get static.

Just play around with it and you should get the hang of it.

I usually record at 44100HZ but 48000HZ is a bit better. (You probably can't hear the difference). Also a big thing is when you export it to mp3 you want to use minimum 128kbs I usually use 192kbs. (It makes a difference)
